When I first tried FD-ISR I had the static snapshot error, so i did a search on the forum and I switched FD-ISR to the RSS engine. Problem solved.

Now im thinking, is there some reason VSS wont work for me? Are other people able to use it? And which is better?

VSS is the offical Microsoft static Snapshot service, RSS is the FDISR version, which seems to work better, with less potential conflicts. Probably the only potential downside to RSS is that down the road it might go away. But for now, I like it better.

Switched to RSS myself after reading of the results and won't look back. Very rapid Copy/Updates to my archives. Even a new snapshot is not so time consuming itself provided i've not loaded one up with the warehouse.
