Sounds great, thank you for your help with this. So should we just have an option in VS to disable the cloud whitelist?

You're welcome, thank you for discovering VS and starting this thread! How did you originally find us anyway? I think you told me a while back, but I forgot.

Thank you for letting us know! What folder does the AX Time Machine install itself to... Program Files? Does VS flash or display a balloon when there is an err in AX Time Machine?

    @ VoodooShield

It was from a post on DSLReports ;)

The install folder is selectable. In my case I install programs to another partition.

There was no notification from VS.

On a side issue, is it possible to select the location that VS is installed to?

The issue you are having might be resolved if AX Time Machine is installed in the Program Files folder OR if you add a Custom Allowed Path for AX Time Machine in VS, under Settings, Custom.

VS will install to Program Files by default, and there is no way to change this. It really needs to be in Program Files to work properly. Thank you!

    Download.com is still on v1.08?

Yeah, I better update, good point! No one downloads VS from there, but I will update it anyway.

I have noticed that VS doesn't turn on when it's in Smart Mode when a USB is inserted.

When are you going to quit requiring net.framework to install, I thought at one time you said that this requirement would be done away with, I would like to try this program but will not install bloatware like net.frameworko_O

Seriously? That is extremely odd. Can you please give me a little more info, and hopefully we can reproduce the error on our end. Thank you!

What version of Windows are you running? I am assuming XP? The .net framework requirements for VS are built in to all versions of windows except XP. And most XP machines have .net 3.5 on them, since a lot of software requires it. I know what you mean about .net, it really is a love / hate relationship with it. There is a lot more info about .net a page or two back in this thread. But to answer your question, for the next year or so, VS will require .net. Thank you!

I just tested this. I plugged in a flash drive while VS was in smart mode. It never did enable it's protection. This definitely should be a priority fix. What info do you need to report this?

Well I inserted my USB card in my PC, it's a memory card where I save passwords and important stuff to not lose them if the PC doesn't boot (I call it safety box :p), and after I had copied my things in USB I noticed that VS was Off ( Smart Mode Enable), after that I ejected the removable disk and inserted again and VS was still Off.

Only tweak I did to my Windows long time ago referring to removable storages, was to disable AutoPlay.

    As extra info I have W8, x32.

I'm using Windows 7 X64. I will create a bug report once I find out what Daniel needs.

Btw, I have been having VS in Smart Mode for 7-8 days, and I still get a ballon about SPPSVC.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood you guys. Yes, VS does not currently have flash drive support for activation of VS. It would be simple to implement I am sure, but we were thinking that a lot of people who use flash drives keep them plugged in all the time. This would force VS to be ON all the time.

Awhile back I did a lot of research on flash drive viruses, to see if they actually exist, or if it is just urban legend. I am not saying that they do not exist, but what I found at the time is that there have been a few reported cases, both in government agencies, but viruses are typically not found on flash drives. I actually have viruses on flash drives that I have collected from client's computers to test with VS. But I think the average person does not have viruses on their flash drive. I could be totally wrong about this, but this is the reason why we have not included flash drive support. We can include it as an option soon.

People share flash drives, but they do not share flash drives with strangers typically. And if you find a flash drive, partition it with VS ON.

Anyway, does our reasoning make sense, or should we just include it as an option? As a temporary fix, we can see if there is a process that starts and stops whether a flash drive is plugged in or not. Then just add it to Custom Programs that Activate VoodooShield in Smart Mode - Under Settings / Custom.

Please let us know what you guys think!

What is the path of the blocked file? I am assuming that it is somewhere in the Windows folder, right?

Do you have VS set to Automatically allow all software from the Windows Systems folders?

What other security software are you running? Does it happen if you temporarily disable your other security software?

    Please let me know!

Thank you, I think we are good. We just have to figure out if we need to include flash support in VS or not!

Well, I didn't change any of VS security settings, I have Windows Defender + Zemana anti logger, the path is ~ if I click on the ballon. It doesn't appear in Log files that it has been blocked, it isn't in my whitelist and I allowed it few days ago since from what I read about it it's a windows file.

Later edit, that has something to do with MS Office(Word, Excel etc) gave me errors while VS was screaming about SPPSVC, I allowed it again, hope that he put it in it's memory and allow it in the future.
