What modes do you test VS in Peter? VS keeping all ransomware out is truly impressive but I guess that is what a lock should do if used properly.

Normally I run in always on, but I tested Autopilot for Dan and found it was just as successful.

Which makes one wonder why not limit operation modes in free version to AUTO-PILOT, LEARN and OFF.

VoodooShield has gotten a patent on the smart made, so it seems more than reasonable to let people pay for the smart mode since that is where VS got a patent for and makes it special. Also people who like full control are typical people running in ALWAYS ON, so when they want full control, they should pay the developer for it also IMO.

If you are relying on Boot Time Protection it's too late. The machine is already compromised.

Hi, since I installed v3.51, I noticed that Voodooshield constantly uses a lot of CPU when I install something or perform certain kinds of task, in autopilot mode + unchecked "Automatically allowed by parent process..."
    not sure with v3.50

The trick is to stop the ransomware from running in the first place. Once you ask about ransomware forcing a PC reboot, it already has taken hold of the system and moves on to the next stage. You want to stop it before it gets to that point.

As seen in the video you posted a link to, malware has to be executed/run before it can get any further. In the case of VoodooShield, unless you allow the malware to run you will be protected.

I installed VoodooShield yesterday in the Admin Account. All seemed fine until I switched over to Guest Account. No sign of VoodooShield. After three reboots it appeared in Guest Account and I thought fixed. Turned off computer until this morning and problem is back. Rebooting did not help. Has anyone seen this?

That's why I don't like any of the ransomware programs. By the time they do anything you are protected. Voodooshield nails them right up front. If you get infected it's your fault.

Not sure if it's related but Voodooshield doesn't handle multiple users at the moment...

AWESOME....opps gotta be careful with that word around here. Thank you askmark. I just now was about to get too extreme about trying to fix this when I saw your post. Thanks again. Just tried GUI exit and that fixed it.

FWIW, I'm the bloke who reported the multiple user problem, we use "User Switching" a lot. I would have thought that logging out of Admin and then into a Guest Account would have shown VS o_O Certainly rebooting and logging straight into the Guest Account should bring VS up.

We have zero problem as long as we actively log out of one account and then log into the other. Well, it is actually a problem, as we like to keep some apps open and working, that's what User Switching is for.

Hello gorblimey... I am no coder, but seems like an easy fix. I have not seen this problem with any other app and I suspect it has been going on from the get go, but maybe not. And yes, it IS annoying.

G'day Rainwalker. I agree, all of my apps are quite happy with User Switching. In my limited understanding, any app works only in the logged-in/switched-in userspace, and is invisible to other userspaces--or at least doesn't care about them. Something about Multi-User vs Multi-Tasking...

However, I have to leave this to people better qualified than myself.

I am wondering if this issue makes us vulnerable for a bit.

    Hi all
I am running the latest 3.52 VS and keep getting warning notification boxes every time I use my Epson printer. I click on allow but VS does not appear to remember my response and the next time I use the printer I get another possible exploit notification. I am running in Smart Mode.
Can anyone advise how to overcome this issue.

    Thanks

    Hi stapp
Thank you for the info/link. I forgot to say that I had already tried the 'disable' route. My issue seems to be when I try to print from within my browser (Firefox). Having selected to print and try to go into the printer properties to select pages etc I get this 'exploit' warning from VS appear. If I select 'allow' the print job completes ok but next time I want to print from within my browser the same thing happens again.
Don't remember this happening in VS 3.50

Is there a link to version 3.50? I upgraded to 3.51 but it messed up Vivaldi browser in sandboxie and started to use alot of CPU, so I would like to return to the previous version.

Sorry I have been away... almost finally caught up and we should have a new version soon.

Alex and I are working on the fast user switching, I think we are getting close.

There were a lot of requests for VS Pro licenses, and I think they are all ready to go, so please check your pm's. If I missed anyone, please let me know!

Thank you guys, talk to you soon!
