It did not work. Now, nothing happens when I try to edit the whitelist. The browser, Chrome, is not even running. What do you mean by "reset the default browser settings?" I am running Chrome with Sandboxie 4.03 if that is any help.

Also, it would be helpful if the download page showed the full version number instead just 1.09.

Good question, I figured someone would ask that! The update feature in VS only works for Major and Minor releases, not for Build and Revision releases. Otherwise users would have to update every 3 weeks or so, because about every 3 weeks or someone finds minor bugs that we fix. If it is a serious bug, which thankfully we have only had one serious bug (which we happened to catch quickly), then we make it a Minor release which prompts the user to update. Or if we add new features, we make it a Minor release as well to prompt the users to update.

But you can download the new version and just install over the top.

Something is wrong with your default browser... What happens if you double click a website url shortcut that is on your desktop? I would guess that it would not open your default web browser. I am not extremely familiar with chrome, but I believe it runs sandboxed by default. Are there special sandbox settings or tweaks in chrome that you adjust?

It could also be that the html extension is not set to open in your default browser. What version of Windows are you running?

The Edit Whitelist button basically just takes you here:

Thank you for the suggestion on the version number, I will email the web developer right now so he can change that. I will also change it in the "About" window of the next VS release.

Edit: Oops, I forgot, the version number listed on the website is automated according to the file name of the VS installer, which only includes the Major and Minor release numbers. We can change this, but it will take some time.

Small "bug", the view log window in full screen mode doesn't work, it shows the window in full screen, but the actual list has still the same width/height.

This software is on my small list named " If I had money I would definetly buy it". :) (And i'm very strict when it comes to money :D )

    I can confirm it.

Dan, "How it works" option does not mention Smart Mode.
Can you put a line in Wizard about it?

I had this same issue recently. In my case a script dialog box appeared after the dos command prompt. Boleh VPN triggers mine.

VoodooShield's Webdesigner was busy adding additional functionality to the whitelist at the time you had this error. He was adding support to be able to remove multiple entries from the whitelist. If you have not already then see if you can edit your whitelist now. If you have already resolved this then my apologies. I have only caught up to this post. This thread has been really busy!

I have the same issue when using Boleh VPN. VS had a little trouble learning Compose.exe that Boleh VPN uses. VS would prompt me to allow or deny compose.exe. When I clicked allow the dos command prompt would appear.

VoodooShield now supports removing multiple entries from the whitelist at the same time. Please check to see if it is working for you! I'm going to try it myself when I get caught up on this thread.

In regards to the post above about the DOS command prompt appearing; VS blocks cmd on my Laptop multiple times per session. Also, I believe the reason VS had trouble learning compose.exe could be that Boleh changed the path of the file so if that was the case then VS was behaving as expected. I think I can cause the DOS command prompt to appear with the script dialog box that follows. It happens when I use Boleh VPN. I'm not so sure I want to do so though because it causes problems with Boleh VPN. I think it's either a bug with Boleh, or VS.

Hi, just to make sure... you were getting this error when you clicked on Edit Whitelist? If so, it is resolved in the latest version. You will have to download it from the website if you want to update it. If you are seeing that error while using some other function, please let me know! Thank you.

I think we just need to fix the CMD problem once and for all ;). I can make it so that the blacklisting does not override the Custom Allowed Paths. So then for programs that still use dos commands, you can just add a Custom Allowed Path to their folder (Or if they are in the Program Folders file, it will happen automatically), then it will allow dos commands from that folder. I think this will work, but it will take some time to figure it out, it is going to be pretty tricky. In the mean time, you could always uncheck the Do Not Blacklist CMD if you really wanted to. Thank you!

1.10 will have the dos command problem fixed (hopefully), along with a few new features that you and a few other users have requested... and maybe even hash comparison support. It will take a week or two to release I am guessing.

2.0 will be a couple of months at least from now, which will run the engine as a service, along with making it perfectly compatible with UAC.

Edit: The time frames all depend on how much time it takes to keep up with the 1 year free promotion. The promotion has gone semi viral, but if it just goes insane, it may be delayed a couple of days.

    Possible bug:
Next two Advanced options are set as default...
"Automatically reactivate after 300 seconds" and "Notify me after 5 minutes if VoodooShield is in OFF mode".

I turn VS off and after 5 minutes there is a popup question asking me if I want to reactivate.
This popup should not appear cause VS should automatically reactivate (5 mins=300 secs).
It should ask only for reactivation values greater than 300.
