    Dan,

I'm glad you are gaining more and more users with this offer. :thumb:
Now, all of us are your potential long-term users after license expires.
Give us good price (I know I'm boring but not all people can afford it) cause I see a bright future for VS (and us, too)!
    ;)

The goal is to make VS free! Let's make VS go viral, then the investors can pay for our trip to Vegas, and give us a free year of VS ;).

I really am going to bed now! Talk to you guys soon ;).

I have a question, is "always on" more aggressive than "smart"? cause I trained VS the first day I used it and opened ALL my programs and when I have it set to "always on" it still blocks some of my (as far as I know) whitelisted programs such as chrome.

I am unclear about the difference between system space and user space. How do you know which programs should be started while VS is in training mode?

UAC is not just for malware protection (it is poor at that if you are not running in a standard user account), it is also used to elevate rights when one is running as Standard User Accounts. Without that, AFAIK, you can't install software when running in a Standard User Account. It is also used for virtualization (I really can't remember this well, I think it is for compatibility in Windows 7?). UAC is actually not recommended to be disabled (for me though and I also know a lot of forumers here that also do not recommend this.)

Ask yourself how many users run Standard account. ;)

On my "native" forum SG (see bottom) two weeks ago has been made the test on similar settings
    - Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit
    - UAC set on max.
    - EMET 4.0 max protection
    - MSE 4 with the latest updates
    - all updates for system
It was used 20 ransome malware and unfortunately system has been infected. The whole thread and YT video below
    https://safegroup.pl/testy/windows-7-uac-emet-mse4-vs-ransomy-t9416.html
But...there is also a good news...few days later it was made the next test on Win 8 with similar settings
    - Windows 8 Professional 64-bit
    - Windows Defender updated instead of MSE
    - UAC max – without changes
    - EMET 4.0 max protection - without changes
    - enabled Smart Screen
The test against 30 malware (ransomware, zbot, kelihos and medfos) was done on standard user account - in the system it was also second - Administrator - account...each one had individual password. This time system was clean

Hi, basically Smart Mode toggles between ON and OFF, depending on if you have a browser or email client open or not. And Always ON is always ON, whether you have a browser or email client open or not. Thank you!

Yes, it is fine that it is being blocked... msiexec is triggered sometimes by certain programs. If you leave VS in Smart Mode for a few days, it will eventually learn what not to block. Other AE's have the same problem, and there is not much we can do about it since there are so many programs that trigger msiexec. But leaving VS in Smart Mode will fix it eventually, then you can switch to Always On if you like... although I prefer Smart Mode all the time. Thank you!

Sounds good. VS for OSX will give users the desktop shield, and the customization and tweaks that VS offers. Also, VS blocks by url (path) instead of publishers (digital signatures), which we think is better. Thank you!

Sigh, why do all of you only look at UAC's security aspect? Because in all fairness, it is a security product.
