Hey guys, sorry I have been away, I will catch up soon.

Here is my last attempt at the freeze issue before Vlad takes a look at it next week... Please let me know how it does.

If you do not have the freeze issue, there is absolutely no reason to install this version.

If you have had the freeze issue, and are not in the middle of testing 3.08 to see if it freezes, please try this version.

Have a great weekend, thank you!

Just because I keep Windows Error Reporting service disabled on my home based machine. As far as I can work out (I'm not expert on this) if an application crashes an error report is generated (even though it's not sent) and blocking the above prevents the report from being created. I don't need those reports.

    Hi Dan

Hope that you are well and have good plans for a great weekend? :D

I don't believe that I have the freeze issue but will try to install and test this anyway...just for completeness. If I can then I will revert back any issues I come across. :thumb:

    Have a good one.

    Regards, Baldrick

Hmmm, did you reset your user log or whitelist (and subsequently the user log)?

Hmmm, very odd about the Disable / Install mode, thank you for letting me know. Is dismhost the only process that is blocked?

Edit: The more I think about it... this probably has something to do with the special way that VS handles dismhost... it should be an easy fix.

The blacklist scanner must have been busy, if this continues to be a problem, please let me know!

Hi Piter... do you mean the progress bar on the desktop shield gadget? How long does it take before it goes away? Are you able to ping google? Thank you!

Cool, thank you... a couple of versions back, I simplified how VS flashes... so there might be a small bug or two, but it will be easy to fix.

Hey Hamo... VS will only add these blocked items to the Threats Detected count if they were detected by the blacklist as a threat (not a false positive or clean)... that is the way it is supposed to work for now anyway. At some point we will include the VoodooAi Unsafe items as well. So were the items that were blocked safe or malicious files? If they were clean files, they should not be added to the threats detected count. I hope that makes sense, if not, please let me know, thank you!

Edit: BTW, the reason that the VoodooAi result is not yet a factor in the Threats Detected count is because it is such a new technology, that I would figure that we would wait for Version 2.0 of VoodooAi to implement it into the count. Hopefully I will be able to start on VoodooAi 2.0 very soon... it is going to be pretty cool. Instead of 40-50 features, it will be utilizing 100-300 or so features of the executable to determine the maliciousness, so it should be even more accurate than the initial version, but who knows what is going to happen. The additional features might just mess it up... I think data scientists call this "overfitting" ;).

Very cool, thank you for letting me know! BTW, how are you liking Avira? After seeing how well it performed, I am recommending it to my local computer customers, and I would be curious what you thought of it.

Yeah, sorry about that (it happens to me as well)... that command line is hardwired in, and I am not sure why that is the only one that does not work out of the hundreds that are listed. It is okay to allow... hopefully we can figure this out soon, thank you!

I am using vs in smart mode, forgot to mention that. also about the dismhost, had a ton of blocked yesterday the 15th but the last one shows sandbox from user log. not sure if that helps or not.
