    Hello Dan

When the beta installer containing the "11. Installer will install the version of VS complied with the .net runtime that is native to the system" fix you will post it in the thread right?

Would like to get back to VS, feel a bit unprotected without it. However, after going the W8.1 route and actually to my surprise loving it, i would not like to install .net 3.5 unless forced. :)

    Hi Dan
Forgot to mention. The reviewer on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doxC5VYJ6b8 thinks Move Shield refers to move Short Cut. Grabbing 2.20c now Cheers

Installed 2.20c over 2.20b, no issues.
I did notice what you said Dan, about tray icon visible before gadget. Like it like that, rather than waiting and praying that VS will start. j/k ;)

Dan, when ever you have time; or if any of the regs on this thread would like to give me a little 101 on the new parenting process, it'll be greatly appreciated. (and yes, I did read the previous post about it). Just would like a little more info if possible. I'm still a little wet behind the ears. hahaha

    Best regards,

No issues for me and I run 99% sandbox'd
VS Toggles ON and protects processes outside sandbox. Luv VS gadget. Drag installers for virustotal scan.
2.20c working great. I re-train each beta update. SMOOTH! :thumb:

Cool, I will respond to the above posts later today... I am running late for a meeting.

Here is the version that we will release today or tomorrow to the public, unless there is a major bug.

This version will prompt you to update until I upload it to the public, but please do not update if it asks you to do so!

I will be looking at this today, now that we have all of the major bugs worked out. Most likely, at least initially, I can create a .net 4.5 version of VS, and worry about the combo installer later. So temporarily, there would be 2 versions of VS, one for Windows 8 and one for everything else. I will not be able to update the Windows 8 version quite as often initially, but in a month or two we should have everything just right.

So in the meantime, there would be a .net 4.5 that just is not updated quite as frequently (at least initially) as the universal version.

Let me try it and see... the last time I tried this, it turned out to be a lot more work than I thought it would be. But later today I will compile VS with .net 4.5 and see what happens, I think we will be ok ;). I will let you guys know! Thank you!

And later today I will respond to the other posts, thank you!

It would be good to know what the 2.21b fixes.

I will hold off for now.

Install of 2.21b. I had to disable 2.20c for 2.21b Installer to open.
Last VS beta update. VS Installer prompted disable VS.
Thanks for warning about prompt to update.
UI looks great! 'Virus Protection Like No Other'

EDIT: Has VS been prompting in lieu of UAC for this https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/warning-on-recent-windows-update.371176/ running Vista so, did not receive KB3004394 <<[..] basically everything that had to do with Microsoft UAC gave me an alert that an unknown program wanted to make changes to my pc [..]>> seems to be W7 64bit

    Hi Dan

Running 2.21 and sorry to say am still getting non starting errors. VS is calling for a reboot but can be started by starting the VS Service from Services

    First error is 7009
A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the VoodooShieldService service to connect.

    Second error is 7000
The VoodooShieldService service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Can send the details if needed.

The internet was connected so do think that was the cause

Sorry late to report, ISP had an outage last night :(
2.21b's UI is looking great! Very clean and professional looking. :)
Installed over 2.20c with no issues.

Hope the release went according to plan.
Keep up the great work Dan.

Very cool, I am trying to finish up the final public release. I think there is even a chance that I will have the combo native installer finished as well, along with pretty much all of the bugs fixed.

Once I finish that up, I will reply to the above posts, thank you!

Only noticed one glitch....may be a glitch you know about. Notice to Update pops every restart even though I un-checked Notify for new version and Saved. Since you eluded to this....I'll assume VS has to be uploaded to the public for Notice to stop even un-checked.

Ver. 2.21b on Vista 32-bit...no way to save changed settings, no matter if I push the button "save&close", reboot VS or system...VS always back to default settings (everything "on"). I have to go back to 2.20c.
    -----------
    edit:
    V. 2.20c...the same issue...hmmm
    Which version can do this??

Also running Vista 32 (we must be the only two).... 2.21 > Settings hold for me with Save. You may try a clean install. Just $.02
