One think while I'm thinking about it and not sure if it is really needed or not, but add in settings this option: Automatically block all software from the "Download" files folder.

G111, yeah, I will talk to the other developers about possibly adding that, thank you!

puff-m-d, that is really odd. What CPU do you have? Also, you can try to reset your White List in the Settings window. We have tested VS on OLD computers and have never had a CPU utilization problem. We even tested it on an AMD 2400+, it was like 10 years old, and the CPU utilization averaged 1% or less. I wonder if there is some other software on your computer that is conflicting with VS. Thank you for the feedback, please let us know.

Resetting white list has no effect. The only security app I am running is WRSA as several are on here with no problems. I tried also with exclusion for VS and also with WRSA shut down, no effect. All other software is operating at their normal CPU and memory so no conflict if any is showing itself. Also nothing in event viewer showing up either. Below are my system specs...

Now mysteriously CPU is at 1% to 4%... Strange how it can vary so much but maybe this time CPU will stay low...

hmmmm, that is odd. We have tested VS on many, many XP and Windows 7 computers, but have only tested it on 1 Vista computer. I wonder if it a problem with Vista. I can check the Vista computer tomorrow and see if it having the same problem.

BTW, the icon problem also occurs in Always On Mode, we will have to fix this ASAP.

Yeah, there are a few features that I am really excited for, but it does take time :). 0.96 has an auto updater that will check for the latest version whenever you restart VS, and also once a week. Hopefully that will not keep asking you to update, if so, there is a bug :). Thank you!

0 % CPU utilization in the TM. Maybe it's on conflict with others security programs like EAM and WSA ?

Would it be possible to get the current version # posted on the website? It is using .76 % cpu, 25 mg memory with no problems to report. Win. 7 , x86.

I know it's not WSA as it's all I use with VS! Allot better CPU utilization and in the memory range in this version!

I'm not sure. With 0% CPU utilization, and of course 0% HDD utilization, it is really hard to say, since it does not appear that VS is slowing anything down. How much memory is it using? It typically uses around 18mb or so.

Great! It looks like we are getting there! We still have to figure out the icon problem on reboot and add some new features. Thank you!

    @VoodooShield

I will be re-training VS again but would like some clarification regarding the instructions. When you say the user should use the PC for 10 minutes or so as they normally would, does this include browser use? If it does include browser use can you expand on any use that should not transpire?

The way I have been training VS is by opening all programs I normally use and then closing them and then using my browsers and visiting the sites I normally visit, some camera chat sites included which use java or flash or something I suspect. I do this for ten minutes then I turn VS to smart mode. What ya think? *puppy*

p.s. received the $10 refund from you guys, thank you :)

It sounds like you are doing it right, although, it is not necessary to surf the web to train VS.

Basically all you do is open most of the programs you normally use, if you forget one, you can always left click on VS to train later. It is not necessary to visit all of the websites you frequent, but if VS does block one, just train it to allow it. I have been using VS for 8 months now, and it has never blocked a website, but one of our investors did have one site blocked, it was a government website. As long as the website does not have an application, it should work.

If you have any other question, please let us know! Thank you!

I'm getting this file blocked many times when I browse with FF and I had VS in train me mode most of the day!

Yeah, we are having the same problem with searchprotocolhost.exe, but only on 64 bit systems, when it is trying to allow a 32bit processes. We have not quite figured it out, but are close. Thank you TH!
