Thank you, we appreciate your compliments! We just completed a thorough test and only found 4 somewhat minor bugs. Once we fix the remaining 4 bugs, we will get a version out to the Wilders people. Thanks again!

I just got home and I noticed the modem light flashing for 'internet'.

I had been away for at least 4 hours.

I got a shock when I found it sending out nearly 600MB of data from my computer.

I immediately disabled VoodooShield, and the data outflow stopped.

What is going on? Such a waste of my bandwidth.

Yeah, it should not be that high at all, since the only communication to our server should be validation of your registration and uploading the whitelist. Please try to disable the option in Settings / Basic "Synchronize and backup my whitelist snapshot to the cloud", it should totally stop then. We have never tested this since there is very little communication between the client and the server, but we will test it as well and let you know what we find. Thank you!

I reenabled and made the suggested change in the settings.

However, that led to an increase in CPU. I had to exit the program in the end to stop it.

You can see from my ISP 'Account Usage Summary', that I have not made a good start in this monthly billing cycle....;)

I tried to download Sygate, but it would not install properly on Windows 7. So I checked my Windows Resource Monitor, and it worked as expected so far. I noticed that in your first screenshot, Sygate is blocking VS packets, so I wonder if VS is being blocked, so it keeps trying to send the packets or something? I will keep an eye on it the next couple of days, and hopefully other users will test on their machines as well. Thank you!

That's good to hear, if it does, please let me know. And if you figure out what triggered this issue, that would be even better. Thanks again!

When I get a chance, I will install Sygate on an XP machine and see what happens. VS doesn't mind blocking stuff, but apparently it does not like it when something blocks its packets ;). It is just a guess, but we will see.

    Thanks. :)

Just an aside, but I got this tray icon appearing a few minutes ago, next to yours, as you can see.

But, nothing happens when I click on it, and nothing shows in Process explorer. Mysterious.

I had just disabled VS temporarily, while I was checking another software.

However, turning VS back on, I have both the your tray icon and the 'floating icon, both flashing. Can't stop it!

I have never heard of that before, is VS blocking anything? Rebooting should fix it.

I just closed VS and restarted...no need to reboot. That stopped the 'flashing' icons.

Nothing showing in the logs, i.e. nothing blocked at the time.

    Hi Camelia

No need to apologise, you are entitled to your view. VS is not for everyone otherwise all other security app producers would be out of business...;)

Hey Camelia, like Baldrick said, there is no reason to apologize! What is it that you do not like about VS? If you let us know, perhaps we can fix it so that you like it too!

VS is a concept that we have been trying to translate into code / software for the last almost 3 years, and we have had an extremely difficult time trying to explain the concept to everyone.

Basically, we believe that every device is in need of a user-friendly computer lock, that toggles to ON when the device is at risk, and creates an "absolute" lock and only allows items on the users tiny, customized whitelist that VS builds automatically by taking snapshots of the system. That is, when a web app is running, there is never a good reason for new, non-allowed executable code to run. And if we are going to put an "absolute" lock on a system, we have to make it as user-friendly as possible, and that is what the toggling and desktop shield gadget is all about.

Please let us know what you do not like about VS, and maybe we can fix it! Thank you!

    Hi VS,

Would you consider having lifetime license options for your product?

    Thanks :)

    Hi DevilsRightHand,

We have talked about it, but have not had the time to figure that out yet. But if you or any of the Wilder's users ever need a license, just let me know. Thank you!

There have been a few users that wanted a lifetime license, so they purchased a 3 year license, then we added 100 years to their expiration date in their account, so that is an option. Then when we offer a true lifetime license, we can convert the account. If that sounds good to you, just email me at dan@voodooshield.com and I can change your account.

But really, all of the Wilder's people are a tremendous help to us, so it is not necessary to buy a license. Thank you!
