Yes I give up too :D

Oh yes I can agree on that it is nice to see in comparison, what I mean is that if the poll was meant to result in a new product name, that won't happen when VS is included, it will always win. ;)

VoodooShield was the first option in the poll.

That's the way it was... I only installed the latest Vipre beta on the 10 or 11th of this month.

I see why you might think it is a conflict between VS and Vipre, it probably is ;). I was just second guessing because of the dark border changes.

He was just suggesting that maybe we should have left VS out of the poll.

Oh, I thought he was saying it needed to be on the poll.

I happen to be a religious person as well but the name doesn't bother me. I do own a dirt devil, I love deviled crabs and eggs... I guess it's personal preference to some degree...i'm not knocking anyone here but if it protects your pc just ignore the name, that's my opinion :)

I also have used a program called "porn blocker" and i'm sure some people wouldn't use it just cause the name porn is used, but how I see it is that it is "anti porn" and "anti-voodoo"!

    I don't have VS icon.

    I can't shutdown VS.

Hi molhopicante, sorry about that. Yes, please use msconfig to disable VS from starting on startup. Then uninstall VS, then reboot and reinstall. After that, just go to Settings / About and click the Default Settings button. You will have to register again, but it should fix the issue. What version of windows are you running? Please let us know if this does not fix the issue, thank you!

Hey Dan, hows coding VS as a service going? I thought I would wait until it was released as a service before reporting anymore bugs since those bugs may not even exist once VS runs as a service.

It is going really well, but it will take a little while, hopefully within a month. I have a new developer helping me with it, he is doing a great job. I tried to do it all on my own, but we are writing it in C, and I am not familiar with that at all. What bugs are you seeing so far? I had VS crash on my once, and show a white box with a red X, and I have been using it CONSTANTLY. So there is something funny going on with the icons change. Hopefully we can figure it out soon. But please let me know what other bugs there might be. If they have to do with paths, they will be fixed in the service for sure. Thank you!

    Hi.

    I'm using W7 x64 with EAM + Online Armor + AppGuard.

I tryied to install it 3 times but the problem remains.
(I can't go to Settings because i don't have any VS icon.)

Strange, because until now VS worked 100%.

I think it has to do with some windows update because i didn't do anything more.

Hmmm, that is odd. Can you please try the previous version, and let me know if it works?

    http://voodooshield.com/Download/versions/Install VoodooShield.1.26.exe

It will ask you to update, but please do not!!! 1.27 had some significant icon changes, and I am not convinced that everything is just right yet.

Also, is the icon completely gone, or is there a light white box with a red x on it? Thank you, sorry for the inconvenience.

    Still not working.

I think it was some Windows update to Microsoft Framework.

The icon completely gone and when i shutdown the PC, i need to force VS to close.

    Interesting.

I think the dotNET updates affected 1.1, 2.0,3.0,3.5, but not dotNET version 4.

I thought that Voodoo shield had already migrated to version 4...or was that deferred in favour of coding efforts to run it as a service.

If that's the case, could that conversion be done as an interim step for the next few months while we are waiting?

    -cheers,
    feandur.

ahh, that makes sense. I like Feandur's idea, let me see what I can do. It may be a day or so. Should we do 4.0 or 4.5?

BTW, I removed a virus from a client's computer today who was not running VS. It was the FBI Moneypak Virus, but it took a picture of her with her laptop's webcam when the virus activated. It made it look like she was wanted by the FBI, and showed her picture. It was really, really freaky.

I agree G111 and Solarlynx! I wonder what they will come up with next?

Here is 1.28 beta compiled in .net 4. All of the .net components that VS uses are the same for 4.0 and 4.5, so this is for either one.

I hope the shield image issue is resolved, along with the advanced options changing in settings when the user clicked Accept on the user prompt.

BTW, the installer will not check if you have .net 4.0, so make sure you do! I will fix this later of course.

Please let me know how this does!!! This is kind of experimental, but it will not hurt anything.

Edit: I removed the link for now. Once I have everything just right, I will repost it.

The new version didn't work for me with XP. I kept getting this recurring popup, but a system restore got me back to version 1.27....
