The Eset virus radar website now shows a version 8480 virus signature as of 6/23/2013.

    http://www.virusradar.com/en/update/info

I seem to be hitting an issue with updating my virus signature from 8479 to 8480.

When I attempt to update it, NOD32 informs me that I have the most current signature and no update is needed.

I have three systems all running NOD32 antivirus and all of them are still running signature version 8479.

    I have tried the following:
    Rebooted the systems
    Cleared the update caches
    Uninstalled and reinstalled NOD32
Verified the username and password were correctly entered into the proper fields and product activation succeeds

None of those troubleshooting steps helped at all.

    I'm running win7 x64 with nod32 AV version 6.0.316.0

Is there possibly something going on with the update servers themselves? Is version 8480 not available even though the virus radar website is showing it as such?

I was getting ready to post a similar question. I have been having the same problem for a few days now. I switched my main computer over to Kaspersky but still have ESET on my laptop. My issue is the same as yours with version 8479 and 8480.

I thought maybe this was a simple problem of an update not being propagated to the server my machine was hitting, but a few days ago, my desktop had run its regular hourly updates all day long but had not picked up three separate ESET signature releases.

Right now, I am waiting for my laptop to run a regular automatic update. It will not pick up the new release if I click on the update button. I tried all of the trouble shooting steps that you list as well.

I apologize for not posting this earlier.

This is very interesting, hamlet. I also hit the same issue earlier last week with the three skipped updates but it cleared up later during the evening of 6/20/13. Three updates were basically ignored during that time period (NOD32 informing me I'm already up to date all day on 6/20/13 until late evening). On 6/21/13, all updates automatically installed like clockwork as expected and also on 6/22/13, everything worked as expected. Now, the issue is rearing it's ugly head again today on 6/23/13. I really do suspect the issue to be with the update server.

I've even gone as far as to file a support ticket with ESET on this latest update issue from today.

Well I guess I can find consolation in knowing that I'm not the only one with this issue.

Hope things sort themselves out for you as well.

A module update over the weekend?
Maybe it's me, but I don't see it.
Compare the info from 19 June 2013 and 25 June 2013. I even used Beyond Compare to compare my stored info in case my bad eyes were fooling me. Beside the obvious virus database there were no module updates. NOD32 6.0.316.0 home edition on XP.

    19 June:
    Virus signature database: 8467 (20130619)
    Update module: 1042 (20130123)
Antivirus and antispyware scanner module: 1396 (20130606)

    Internet protection module: 1065 (20130610)
    Database module: 1036 (20130417)

    25 June:
    Virus signature database: 8489 (20130625)
    Update module: 1042 (20130123)
Antivirus and antispyware scanner module: 1396 (20130606)
    Advanced heuristics module: 1139 (2013020:cool:
    Archive support module: 1169 (20130521)
    Cleaner module: 1073 (20130617)
    Anti-Stealth support module: 1043 (20130322)
    ESET SysInspector module: 1234 (20130409)

Wait for ESET Staff and or an ESET Moderator to address your issue(s)... If no joy - submit and issue ticket to ESET.

I figure you must get it soon, seeing that I got 1172 (20130624) and I am on pre-release.(

So 1171 should be available soon on normal update servers I think :)

Archive module 1172 is currently available on pre-release servers. That means if no issues are found or reported from users, it will be made available to all users soon.

Good to know, meaning you will skip releasing 1171 to all users and go straight to 1172 that's on PR servers as we speak. Then FanJ knows that anyway :thumb:

Thanks Marcos for the archive module news. I don't have pre-release updates enabled, so I will wait.
    Thanks also SweX and Gerard.
SweX, I understand that you have them enabled.
Gerard, do you have them enabled? I see that you got yesterday a module update. If you don't have pre-release updates enabled, could you please give the info from the About tab so I can compare that info with mine. Or maybe somebody else would be so kind? Thanks in advance!

Not forgetting pre release means Beta modules but if this fixes an issue you can revert back to non beta.

Yes, thanks siljaline; I knew that. For now I prefer not to use beta on this way too old laptop.

Hey, great, thanks for the heads-up. I didn't noticed it, but you're right.

    PS:
I may not have the opportunity this weekend to run a full in-depth scan (to check about the little "issue" Marcos and me were talking about). We'll see.

    Virus signature database: 8507 (20130629)

You could try to click on the "update" button manually 5-10 times in a row, sometimes doing that will make it connect to another update server.

And/or, clear your "update cache" and then try to update again.

Since your issue seems to be persistent and unresolved, please submit an issue request.

Yes, I think I did read that but it had escaped my mind as having been resolved over at the New Forum.

Makes mental note to check both for duplicate posts.

    Thanks for that SweX -
