looking at Roboscan that I currently use, are 2 tests that something goes wrong, Bitdefender reaches VB100 and Roboscan no for wildlist misses

 

Interesting. Why the difference in proactive protection between MSE & MWD?

 

Anybody else notice Avira Free beat Avira Pro in Proactive Detection? Can't make out the Reactive difference.

 

Avira Free consistenly outperforms just about everybody on this test.

 

I wonder why Symantec/Norton isn't on the RAP charts lately.....

 

Note that Avira Pro is not Avira Premium. Avira Pro is the corporate version.

Also, Avira Free was in red, which means it was only tested once, while Avira Pro was in black, which means it was tested more than once and the result is the average of those.

Considering you CAN'T install MSE on Windows 8 this test is either A) complete garbage or B) including products tested in previous tests (not on Windows

From what I can see the only AVs that failed VB100 are random obscure AVs no one has heard of or no one really uses. So I'm personally going to select option A, this test is garbage.

 

Then I wonder what kind of magic VB100 did to make MSE work on Win8

 

It's aggregated Quadrant May-Dec 2012 and I'm pretty sure there was no Windows 8 in May 2012; so the results are just an average of what has been observed over the months. The testing period for WMD is shorter, but it has still been included.

 

They dropped out of AV-C too IIRC.

 

My goodness, Fortinet keeps improving all the time. Do the Standard and Lite versions use the same scanning engines?

So this are the results for multiple RAP tests done through the year.

 

of course, is wrote in the first line : "The following chart shows the RAP results obtained over the last four tests ... Virus Bulletin subscribers have access to the detailed results of the RAP tests, including a per-test RAP quadrant." And I'm not a subscriber so I can't see the last RAP tested in Win8, only if Av passes or not the last test having VB100 certification
