I made a virtual machine using VMware Workstation. My plan was to find viruses not detected by Kaspersky. When I go to malware websites, the anti-virus on my own computer (not the virtual one) detects them. o_O

I want the virtual machine's anti-virus to react.

Is this normal? How can I prevent it?

    Thanks,

If you are detecting them on line, yes. They have to go thru the host first.

Just disable the AVs proxy scanner or use a bridged(direct) connection for your virtual pc. ;)

At that moment, I was trying ESET Smart Security 3.0. Now I'm testing Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0.0.501 CF 2! :)
