Wow! You're absolutely right. Every process on my box ballooned in size after a scan - not just svchost. I tried the same thing with Avira and it didn't do that.

@NickHSunbelt - Why does Vipre do this?

Edit: Running CleanMem will reduce the memory used back to normal (except for MalwareDefender.exe). I think Vipre should do this post scan for each process automatically.

You will not be disappointed. VIPRE heuristics is very strong and offers your good customizations (although need more work for flexibility). You will love lightness and great detections at the same time.

doing deep scan .. not good speed
    overall its really light :D

i also found that heuristic in not enabled by default ... surprising as i heard Vipre famous for heuristic and its not ON in default settings.

    Nevis,

That will only happen during the first scan. After the second scan it will have an estimate of the percentage and time remaining for the scan which is based off previous scan times.

Tried Vipre but "repair function" after virus attack is very bad in comparison to that of Kaspersky and Norton.

While using Vipre bro...Vipre tried to eliminate the virus and asks the reboot of the pc but after the reboot vipre continuous to ask the reboot. At the end the pc is not restarted anymore: impossible to start windows . Tested on windows 7 ultimate x64 SP1.

where are there heuristics settings? (afaik, there aren't settings for heuristics. unknown program handling behavior, yes, heuristics, no.)

    Nevis,

Was this for a custom scan? Custom scan estimated times will vary considerably depending on the files you select to scan. Each scan type has it's own estimated scan time.

    Nevis,

Were you using the official release or the latest beta release?

As some are saying though, is the program getting better or worse since the takeover of Sunbelt?

I've always heard Vipre is a great program but AVtest only gave the program a 4 out of 6 for protection and 4.5 for repair. Symantec surprisingly got a 5 and a 5.5, which is my current antivirus.

AV Comparatives at least agrees with the scores for Symantec, but of course they don't seem to test anything from GFI or Sunbelt?

A little more info would be nice:) Who is GFI, and what did this company do before?

    Oh, fashizel! 10% off!

Yeh, I know, but what else does a person have to go off of? Allot of antivir scores can be wildly different from person to person, or site to site..etc.
