Are both Nod and Nod kernel set for auto in services.msc?

Yes both are set to automatic.

Thanks. I'll contact Eset about it.

I doubt someone will be able to shed a little light. It seems to be a serious system problem. Just in case, try installing NOD32 to, for instance, c:\nod32 instead of the program files folder to see if it makes a difference.

You might also set the device manager to show hidden device drivers, and make sure there isn't a driver left over from a previous AV. I'd also update any drivers that you can, including other software that uses drivers.

I trialed NOD before and couldn't get it to scan emails in thunderbird and i refuse to use outlook so went back to F-secure.I did like NOD however and so does this user but he has a valid complaint. He stated he has used others AV's for long periods of time without this problem so it should be up to Eset to make sure that NOD doesn't have compatibility issues especially with "drivers".I too noticed occassionly that NOD would not show up in the system tray after booting up and now i know why.
