This beta doesn't seem to like Windows 8 apps AT ALL!!!
Apps crash when they try to read content from the Internet.

apps tried: Mail-Messaging-People-Calendar, Bing Sports, News Bento... all of the them crash.

    Uninstalling this now.

Same here. Running the ESS 7 beta in a Windows 8 VM.

I can confirm this on my alternate home machine. Renaming the HIPS driver makes the issue go away. Will report it to the engineers immediately.

Thank you for confirming and reporting it, Marcos. Please let us know when there's a fix so I can go back to the beta.

This issue has been fixed an automatic module update. Simply run update manually so that the latest modules are downloaded and installed. Should the problem persist, try restarting the computer.

Running here on win8 64 without issues. It seems to have less system impact compared to v6. Or is it just placebo? :D

Seems Eset is getting back on track :)
I installed it and saw the Advanced Memory Scanner is part of the HIPS module, which I found a bit weird, but found more info:

Here is a more detailed article on changes/improvements in v7:

Btw, is beta testing adviced on regular or pre-release update server?

And compliments to Eset for not jumping on the Metro GUI hype-train :thumb:

When you are in the advanced settings you cant read the help file. The help file stays in the background. Happens some times not always.

Agree. This version is better than in v6 interms of resource which is quite intersting for a beta product. Installed it last day and everything seems to working quite good.

Good to see new things being added in ways finding the new evloving threats :thumb: :thumb:

Working for me now as well. I may have missed it but I do not remember being prompted for the Firewall Mode on installation (for the suite, obviously). No big deal for me to change it but I would prefer the option of being prompted.

Why has this subject of beta 7 gone so quiet?
I was looking on the beta section of this forum and there seems to be no posts about it.
