If i use a VPN service and then after I connect to the VPN, connect to a remote computer with a socks server installed on it, and use that socks proxy from the remote computer to browse the net etc.., will that help in keeping me anonymous?

    Thanks

Depends on who you are trying to be anonymized from, and how you are doing it. There are no one-user anonymity systems. If you setup the VPN and you're the only one using it, you are not anonymous. If you are the only one using the socks proxy, you are not anonymous. If the connections are not encrypted, you are not anonymous. There are an infinite amount of things to go wrong. Tell me more.
