    Can I use NOD32 v3 or v2 on Windows 7?

What are the disadvantages of using an older version of NOD32?> will I still be safely protected provided the updates are done periodically?

The reason I am asking is because I am having hiccups with Eset Smart Security as mentioned in THIS thread and I want to use NOD32 Antivirus without the Firewall, but I want the lightest / but still secure setup as Eset has always been in the past.

Please provide some detailed insight on the above

    thanks

Versions 2 and 3 of NOD32 AV are not compatible with Windows 7. The earliest compatible version is 4.0. To answer the other question, ESET version 4 introduced self-defense in the product for the first time. IDK about you but that's reason enough for me not to go back.

v4 or v5 for self-defense (and add password protection) and better proactive detection and protection than older versions.
