using locations old images are not deleted

    I have set up a backup loaction with a rule only allow 14 backups. I run a incremental to this location and a log entry says'

    Check for 'number of backups' rule violation is started. Set number 14

    'number of backup' rule violation is detected. Maximum allowed: 14 Current number 23

    There is no action available to take against the limit violation. Limit rule: by backup count. By defualt, the 'delete' actio will be used

    Trying to fix limit violation by backup count

    Deletion is started.Rule by backup count Number of backup will be deleted: 9

    Backup deletion
    Location atis:folder?file:X\vista64
    number of backups:
    9

    Enumerator is invalid


    However nothing is ever deleted!

    Has anyone any ideas to resolve please?

    Could you please clarify where is your backup Location is organized (internal drive, USB drive, network folder etc.), what version of the software you are using and what is its build number? All this information has a crucial importance in issue investigation.

    The location is a usb drive.(usb2 500G drive)
    Version 11 build 8,053

    Hello mbaker,

    Many thanks for your answer and for the provided information.

    Could you please clarify whether you have upgraded to Acronis True Image 11 Home from any of the previous versions of the software or you have installed full version of Acronis True Image 11 Home without having previous ones? If you use upgrade version, this means that the most probable reason is that some program modules were not updated correctly. So in order to fix the issue please reinstall Acronis True Image 11 Home in the following way:
    - Uninstall the program through Add Or Remove Programs Control Panel applet and restart PC.
    - Download Acronis Clean Up Utility and delete all the traces Acronis True Image 11 Home left after uninstalling via Windows Installer.
    - Install the program again and recreate Acronis Backup Location.
    This should fix the issue.

    Hello,I had previous versions so did a upgrade.

    I have now de-installed / reboot /clean utility / re-intalled /reboot
    re-create the task
    and I still have the problem.

    getting lots of Acrhive computer .closed

    Backup deletion Location atis:folder?file:x\vista64\number of backups: 10

    error 71 1(0x470001) 09/06/2008 16:27:10 Enumerator is invalid

    followed by Information 100 Operation has succeeded

    thank you for your suggestions so far.

    what next?

    I am also getting the same error. Is ther a fix available?

    My problem has gone away.. I don't know why..
    I have been manually deleting the old backups and maybe one of the old ones was casuing the problems..

    Sorry I can't help anymore

    Please be aware that such error ("Enumerator is invalid") usually appears when some of archives stored in the Acronis Backup Location are corrupt. Please try validating the backup location and see if all backups validate successfully.
