    I've done everything I know to try & get notifications to tell me the AV base has been updated but no go, other than that it seems OK ( I get updates), anyone else have this issue & curious if this (I doubt it) would effect the overall effectiveness...I'm considering buying 2 more licences for the other machines at home as I have grown weary of Kisv6 on the desktop & long for separates, currently using Nod32, sygate firewall 5.6 & spyblaster...with Ewdio on demand when needed...seems to work well...thanks

    When you uninstalled and reinstalled, did you do a "Typical" installation?

    Cheers :D

    If you have Windows XP, run regedit, expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced and make sure the key "EnableBalloonTips" is set to 1. Ain't the NOD32 Control Center icon set to be hidden in the system tray by chance?

    no not hidden, this is a new desktop running Windows Media Center, it runs fine on my laptop that has XP Pro...it updates as when I put the mouse cursor over it shows the new date just one of those nagging things...

    Have you checked the registry as Marcos suggested.
    If you don't know how , here it is :

    Click Start-> Run -> type
    regedit.exe
    Press [ENTER]

    Carefully browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

    and at the right site , right click on the key suggested by Marcos , choose Modify and modify it . Exit with the X and restart .

    Is it working now ? :thumb:
