Updates are not downloading someone Plz help!

i just got spyware blaster and when i try to download updates it stops responding, even when i hit control-alt-delete and hit end task the program doesnt end. In the taskmanager window it shows two spyware blaster tasks that are not responding . The same thing happened when i ran spydoctor it wouldnt update and I couldn't use the task manager to end the program i read an earlier post about this and it said that similar problems were solved by just waiting but i've tried that and no success, i end up hitting the power button on my pc and just killing the power when this happens. can someone help plz

 

What other programs are you using....SpySweeper ?

I just removed the database files which caused an update to be completed and it was a normal server download.

 

the programs that iam running now are Spybot Search and Destroy, Norton internet security, and spyware blaster. I just recently uninstalled today spysubtract and spyware doctor (spyware doctor was having the same problems as spyware blaster, oh and i installed and uninstalled spyware doctor today), then i had zerospyware but i uninstalled that a while ago i also am running norton password manager.

oh one more thing i know this is alittle off topic but my computer system information tells me i have windows XP professional SP2 but i have media center on it, is that bad?

I would suggest taking a real close look at NIS settings(specifically the firewall in regards to allowing "spywareblaster.exe" access to the net. While you are in there check your other programs you were having problems updating....you may have them blocked also.

 

it didnt work the program still wont let me update
