They have mentioned including several "fixes" in the next build (like detection of OEM Vista installations, etc.) so I assume they do. However, they never release any dates.

If you would be so kind as to elaborate on what deficiencies DD has with respect to OEM Vista installations, I would appreciate it. I just started perusing this forum, as I'm considering purchasing DD for a Dell laptop preloaded with Vista Home Premium.

    Thanks.

Maybe I found the answer elsewhere on this forum. Problems with the OS Selector and "branded" OEM versions of Vista, such as with my Dell? If so, is this because of the additional bootable partitions included on these types of systems?

    Thanks.

As far as I can tell, the problem with OSS and brand-name Vista installations has to do with how the BCD file is setup. I think this because I can "change" it on a working system and then OSS won't detect it.

If you want to use OSS and it won't detect your Vista installation, it can be added manually.

I use DD on my Vista computer and it works fine. The only other main thing is that if you setup an NTFS partition with DD for installing XP or Vista, let Windows do a quick format during the installation process. For some reason, Windows doesn't seem to like the formatting by DD and usually errors on the reboot during the installation.
