    To all,
Since the 22nd of July, I've been getting an error that I can't figure out how to trace. The signature files appear to update anyway but it is anoying to get this.
I'm running version 2 with auto update to a mirror.

7/22/03 1:44:24 AM - During execution of Update on the computer <removed>, the following warning occured: Error occured while updating program modules (Update has ended with error. (Return code 301))

    Any suggestions?

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

I have been experiencing this same problem ever since the beta version of NOD32 v2. Every time there is a program update available I have had to uninstall my previous version, download the latest version and reinstall NOD from scratch including the mirror setup. Not the best way to go about it, but the only way I have found. :( :doubt: :'( o_O

When the message pops up that program updates are available it says the program updates are 0 bytes and if I click yes to update I receive the same message you do. The virus definitions update OK.

Perhaps one of the moderators can offer a solution.

I'm getting this message since that date and I guess it's related to the same issue. Can't I just install the newer version over the previous or do I really have to uninstall it first?

    Hi Penguin,

I haven't tried installing over the top of the previous version. I have always had to uninstall the previous version, download and reinstall the new program version.

I have an idea I will try later today. I'll get back to you if it works.

    Regards

    Buster

Mine does not updating the virus database so I may as well unistall it and run the newer one...

    [edit]
After downloading the latest version I had no problems with the program updating or the virus definitions update (win2k).
The clients updated successfully from the mirror without any problems.

    Hi Penguin,

You might run into problems when the next program update is available. I haven't tested a pc running Win2000 with NOD32 admin version.

It sounds like NOD32 admin for Win2000 also has program update issues.

Are there any mods out there who can shed some light on this!!!

    Rgds

    Buster,
I was reading through the messages since I got back from vacation. It appears that a component update was done on the 22 of July. That's the date I started having the error show up. Coincidence?
