I have noticed that when people clean spyware from machines they sometimes unregister dll's using the regsvr32 command.

I wondered what this actually does. Is it a change to the registry or does it do something else? Also, if you remove a rogue dll file but do not unregister it, what are the consequences?

    Thanks for any help.
