I have Oracle server Ebs under Unix Solaris 10, I would like to install Acronis on windows which connected to the same Solaris local network then I can backup Solaris server data through windows by using Acronis
Is this possible and what is the best solution for this and which version of Acronic ?

    Thanx for all

    Hello nnnddd,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Products

Neither Acronis product supports Unix Solaris, except for Acronis Drive Cleanser 6.0 but this is not backup/restore solution.

The only way to achieve the desired result is sector-by-sector approach under Acronis bootable disc. Using this method you will be able to backup and restore the whole drive including all sectors on it. You can download free trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2009 install it on any supported operating system then create Acronis bootable disc using Media Builder within the program and test it.

Read user guide for more information about sector-by-sector approach.

    Best regards,

    Hello nnnddd,

Thank you for taking time to contact us.

Yes, you are right. Sector-by-sector approach makes incremental backups nonsensical.

    Thank you.
