Hi, I just uninstalled Prevx SOL and rebooted my pc, but still three files ( pxkbf.sys、pxrts.sys、pxscan.sys)left in C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder. Can I remove these files manually? thanks John
Hello, Could you please try reinstalling and then uninstalling again from an administrative account and then rebooting? We definitely prefer to have it removed from the installer itself as there could potentially be some entries causing dependencies on those files. If uninstallation still isn't working properly, please let me know and I'll take a look at it via remote diagnosis if you're interested
Yes you are right, the same on my end. The files are left there even if Prevx uninstallation went without a hitch.
I use Revo Uninstaller Free version which is a great app to remove programs and it checks to see if there are any left overs and gives you the option to remove them if you want to! http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html HTH, TH
Yes I know, Revo is good but I am using Your Uninstaller which keeps better results for me. Anyway all uninstall applications are very careful deleting files under System32 folder. Anyway if Revo deletes the files after Prevx's uninstall process is finished it could be safe to delete them manually for those using only Prevx's uninstallation file. Anyhow hoping Joe will try to reproduce it on their side and will revert with resolution.
Hello Joe, Can you please share with us results of your in house testing as regards left over files after Prevx uninstallation? It looks like some remnants are really left regardless how many installation/uninstallation is exercised. I am curious what another files apart those stated in this thread are left and how to get rid of them (simply delete or ?). I have also found yPxSecure.dll (version 3.0.5.9 - quite old version, so it is sitting there long time) in System32. Thx for your attention and reply. pegas
Hello, I believe I've reproduced some of the uninstall issues. After uninstalling and rebooting, if any of the dlls or drivers still exist, you should be able to delete them without a problem. 8ll ensure that this is fixed in the next release - thanks for the heads up!

Just to inform you that I re-installed Prevx .189 today due to problem which I have reported in a separate thread and after uninstallation the three drivers files stated in the first post have been left over. So probably uninstall process needs to be again polished a bit.
While the Revo is very good and maybe capable of deleting all remnant files I prefer you to try Prevx's uninstaller instead to confirm this issue because I think that Prevx should be completely uninstalled using its uninstaller without necessity to use a third party software.
Absolutely. Prevx's uninstall should tidy itself up. I'm sure they will fix this now they are aware of it. I normally run the prevx uninstaller from add/remove programs and then I also run the removal tool from the contact support page. However, I think this is a very old tool now and probably needs updating. I always uninstall from my admin account not the standard user account I use for everyday use . I'm just using revo uninstaller to prune my computer of a few unwanted applications. Its not for prevx. revo uninstaller is working good too and doesn't need to install as its portable We'll hold you to this, especially since you said it twice!
Prevx will properly uninstall itself provided it is being uninstalled from an administrative account (or that the services are loaded) and that the PC is rebooted after uninstalling. If you're seeing any file of Prevx not uninstalling after rebooting, please let me know - this thread was created several months ago and the underlying issue was fixed back then
Yes that's definitely true. My mistake was uninstalling Prevx without administrative rights. In such a case the said driver files are left over. However uninstalling with administrative rights gives no left over files so be sure following Joe's advice.
