    Awesome test.. Note how much slower Windows8 is with File I/O. Someone mentioned Teracopy as their favorite program, but it's speed isn't stellar, probably a placebo effect more than anything. FastCopy(opensource) seems to be the only one that actually made a performance difference across the board worth mentioning. Shaving a full MINUTE off copying large files on Windows.

    Speed isn't everything. I like Teracopy for it's features.

    Windows 8 reportedly adds some focus on data integrity and deduplication, so it makes sense that some large file writes might take a bit longer. Overall performance is better than other versions of Windows, though; in large part due to features to make it viable for mobile devices.
