I have DD installed and am able to run it from Windows. From Windows it sees all my drives. I have been able to work on my external drives using the program from Windws.

When I try and boot DD from the CD it will boot but not load if no external drive is plugged in. With an external drive plugged in, it will boot and load but it only sees my external drives. I doesn't see my computer hard drive. This is the case with both the rescue media CD and the ISO I made.

Anybody have an idea why this is so and how to fix this...

The Linux drivers used by the Full Mode version probably don't support your computer. Try the Safe Mode version of DD. Another option is to include DD on a BartPE or VistaPE CD.

Thanks Mudcrab, I will try it in Safe Mood. Do you "lose" anything (like features, etc.) by doing it in Safe Mode because I noticed the program says Full Version is recommended.

The Safe Mode version uses the BIOS to access the hardware. You may not be able to access your external drives. Try it and see.
