Spywareguard stopped working with an error on spywareguardcp.exe and now I'm unable to access the control panel to disable the protection.
Unistalling and reinstalling the program don't solve the problem (still the same error) :'( and now I'm receiving lots of messagges about the protection of certains files.
How can I disable the protection without the control panel?

A little update on the problem. I receive now the same error with spywareblaster. It say (I translate from italian) "instruction at "0x733c8ad7" referred to memory at "0x00000014". Memory could not be "read". My OS is WinXP Home.
The good news are that the warning messages are gone, I don't know why. o_O

What programs have you installed recently? Any new anti-virus, firewall, or similar programs?

Also, please try downloading and installing the following update from Microsoft:
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb60pro/Redist/sp5/WIN98Me/EN-US/vbrun60sp5.exe

It is possible some important system files were replaced.

    Best regards,

Glad to hear it - it sounds as though another program overwrote some necessary files with older versions - hence the problems with SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard.

    Best regards,
