    Thanks so much.

UltimateDefrag is for me "THE VERY BEST" defrag i ever had the fortune to discover and boy what a joy to work with file placements that actually move files where you want them and keep them there longer!

My metal disk platters are all "tricked up" like never before and THAT MAKES ALL APPS INCLUDING AV'S RUN AS WE EXPECT OF 21ST CENTURY COMPUTER SOFTWARE!

    Cheers TonyW

latest version set up and run. No problems - working fine. Can now finally remove perfect disk and let UD do the boot time defrags.

Boot Defrag gave me a restart page log error of some type. It does not work for me either.

Swell. Has anyone reported this to Rob F (at Disktrix or wherever)?

I planned to order today but I think I'll wait until this is resolved.

I'm using UD's boot defrag with Vista SP2 beta and it works fine so far. It worked fine with Vista SP1 also. :ninja:

Guys, please notify us of any problems such as the ones you are experiencing at support@disktrix.com. Please give us information as to the exact error being reported as well as full system specs and anything else peculiar/specific to your system.

So far it only appears to be a small handful of users out of many installs so far that are experiencing such problems.

We will pass on the system information and errors to the development team and we ask for your patience as we resolve any issues.

You are not wrong there! A very challenging project to say the least.... but we got there! :)

    Thanks

Exact message I saw. I just uninstalled it until someone can get it straight. Do not like when software misbehaves and major functions do not work. Hope they can get it sorted soon.

You can still defrag as you could with the previous version.

I'm using Win Xp SP3 with no problem. I did find that Perfect Disk 8 did not want to do a bot time defrag after I had installed the new UD. So perhaps UD2008 is conflicting with some other program ? Many people on this site run al sorts of intrusive security programs. I wonder if one of those clever Hip hop programs is causing problems :D

Add me to the list who are getting errors with the new UD boot-time defragger.

Another issue I had was that even though I specifically requested it to update prior build 51, all of my settings were lost, so I had to re-enter them! :(

    I just notified support

I am running Shadow Defender and ShadowProtect. I took C out of shadow mode to defrag it. Also, I uninstalled SD just to make sure of that but still error on Vista SP1 3b bit.

Personally, I just have NOD32 and Windows Firewall running. I use MBAM and SAS, but only on demand.

Beyond that, ShadowProtect, PD 2008 and, very rarely, Sandboxie. Can't think of anything else that would hose UD's boot-time defragger.

I first encountered the error on an XP Pro (SP3) machine and then installed UD on a machine running MCE2k5 (SP3). I got the same boot-time error message, though.

Maybe it is a conflict with either ShadowProtect or PD2008. I have them both also, VmWare version of PD2008, with the log error.

Perhaps. However, Long View reported that he was experiencing no such problem and, from I've been able to determine, he has both SPD and PD installed.

Also, FWIW, a new build of UD 2008 (2.0.0.55) has been released; doesn't address this particular issue, though.
