Windows Security, this is Windows Defender ? I suspect this is more AMSI popup but the AV is something else. Do you have another AV on the machine ?

Just tried this program for the first time, what a horrible app! It found some updates like Telegram, EA App, Internet Download Manager (which was already up to date at v6.42.27 but it was saying there is a v6.42.27.1 which is wrong). I did the updates but the programs didn't actually update and the versions were the same.

    Well, thank you ?
So I think you were already mostly up-to-date.
Would you mind reporting the errornous items so that we can fix them ?

IDM is already 6.42.27 on our records, so it looks fine. Can you share the report ?

I made a video for you, please check: https://fileditchfiles.me/file.php?f=/s21/MezWjAeYTZnSnogvXjjp.mp4

PS: Seems like it did update the EA App properly so at least that's fine

Ok so that's coming from Winget, this errornous version.
If you wish you can disable Winget in the setting and it will use the Community version that looks correct.

EDIT: Adobe Acrobat is detecting version 2020, but the latest is 2024. That's why you have an update here.

I disabled Winget then scanned again, it's still showing Telegram and Adobe Acrobat update and now there's a new errenous update for PotPlayer, if you check the version, it's suggesting to install an older version

When was the last Virus & threat protection update for Defender?
And does "Protection History" show anything useful?

    I can't reproduce this on my end Win11 24H2.

Can you try an other browser, or clear the browser cache?

The Sabsik.FL.A!ml is Microsoft's ML/AI magic that flags trigger happy.

If you select that Detection and chose "Action" can you restore and/or Allow it on the machine, it seems it cached the result as Blocked.

Oh, it's Microsoft Defender/Windows Defender, the default Windows (11 24H2) antivirus. I'm just using the default Windows antivirus, nothing else.

I just downloaded it again and now everything is fine, I was able to download and run UCheck without any problem.

    Thanks a lot!

Maybe you were VERY early and Microsoft saw it's new file.

I have verified telegram and the latest is really 5.11.1. Download it from https://desktop.telegram.org/ you will see the version number

For Adobe, like I said it's technically outdated since there's a higher version available.
Whether you buy it or not is another problem... You can add exclusion I think.

He's running the "Telegram Desktop" (Telegram Messenger LLP) Windows Store version it seems, perhaps that one lags behind the official binaries.
If you match the store version to the full versions this might happen more often.

Correct, I am running the Windows Store version, IMO UCheck shouldn't attempt an upgrade to the desktop version because if you do click update, you end up with 2 diff. Telegram apps

In an ideal world, I agree. But it's Windows Store owner's responsibility to provide the latest available to all the sources. If we start taking in account those specificities it's an endless time eater.
Unfortunatly it's impossible to be perfect, we'd rather focus on low hanging fruits and focus our efforts on noticeable things.

EDIT: I believe it will only open the Windows store if you update, no ?

Is anybody still having detection / certificate issues? I believe things are starting to settle down.

    Hi @Tigzy :

Regarding the new Clear colour theme for UCheck Free v6.x, would it be possible to change the text colour for update announcements displayed in the message banner from white to orange or red text (or some other text colour with better contrast with the pale blue background)?

I ran UCheck this morning and didn't even notice the product update message shown below. Ironically, it was a QuickInstaller scan that alerted me that a new UCheck v6.1.1.0 was available.

Some time ago we discussed a "compact view" for updates. This is some prototype we've been working on. Any thoughts ?

EDIT: It will not replace the old view, it's just an alternative that you will be able to choose from the settings.
EDIT2: Probably gonna move the "Major" labels in front

Do you have AVG or Norton on this machine ? If so, they had an FP that should now be solved, look in quarantine.

Should entries not having [Minor] a placeholder to keep things lined-out more cleanly to the eye?

Yes, I thought about that. It will probably be something like "Patch" maybe ?
