I can confirm I was getting the same expired certificate error for cloud.adlice.com (expired 03-Aug-2024) that Hans Rapp reported <above> when I tried to download an .exe or .zip file from https://www.adlice.com/ucheck/ this morning . Both Firefox and MS Edge were throwing a similar error.

UCheck v5_6_0_0 Download Throws Expired Certificate Error for cloud_adlice_com 04 Aug 2024.png

Someone at Adlice must have updated the certificate because I just checked and downloads are working again.

    this is current state:
    https://www.sslchecker.com/sslchecker
    or here https://ssl.de/ssl-check.html
either your used antivirus, or some kind of cert proxy on your side. or vpn, whatever. not adlice, the cert already was renewed.

I also got the warning about an expired cert.
The warning is gone this morning.

you should bookmark the links above from me to have visible evidence you can copy&paste for us. seems that you two have hitted the few hours gap between the two certs.

I think the server/service was down completely yesterday not quite sure what happened but this doesn't sound to well, perhaps here was some unsolicited code added to the site based on the verdic name.
@Tigzy if possible could you shed some light on this?

UCheck v5.7.0.0 released on 10-Sep-2024, available at https://www.adlice.com/ucheck/.

Note that the version history at https://www.adlice.com/docs/ucheck/release-notes/changelog/ states in part that v5.7.0.0 is "Now exclusing PortableApps.com portable files". I don't use any portable apps from PortableApps.com so I'm not sure how this change might impact other users.

Haha, nothing specific, still missing a few of mine for sure. There used to be such constant discussion when SUMO died, I miss that!

Please note this is a fix version, because of a recurring crash.
It does not incude any new feature that are currently being actively tested.
We felt we deserved that kind of intermediate release to fix any known issues.

@Tigzy For me the connection issue was resolved, and I could download the new beta.
That beta is working great for me :thumb:
No more (false out of date) issues with for example Microsoft 365.

    Hi Tigzy:

According to your release notes in post # 1546 the UCheck v5.8.0.0-BETA1 now scans for Universal Windows Platform (Microsoft Store) apps located in the hidden, protected C:\Program Files\WindowsApps folder. Is there some way to turn off scanning of these UWP apps in the UCheck v5.8.0.0-BETA1 settings without completely disabling winget scanning at History & Settings | Scan Settings | Winget | Scan for Updates Using Winget?

The UCheck v5.8.0.0-BETA1 detects about 30 additional built-in UWP apps installed on my system (e.g., Cortana, Feedback Hub, Paint 3D, Print 3D, Snip & Sketch, Skype, Solitaire & Casual Games, etc.) that are classified as Winget apps by UCheck, but most of these apps are Microsoft Store apps that automatically update themselves in the background (assuming you leave the default automatic updating enabled in the Microsoft Store) so the majority of users don't need UCheck to monitor the update status of these UWP apps. It's just more clutter in my UCheck interface that I don't need to see, and I don't want to have to make 30 new exclusions in UCheck to hide them.

UCheck v5_8_0_0_BETA1 UWP Microsoft Store Apps Classified as Winget Apps 30 Oct 2024.png

I should also point out that most of the apps on my system now classified as Winget apps by UCheck v5.8.0.0-BETA1 are not true winget apps and should probably be classified as Community apps. A command like winget list | sort will list all installed apps, but if the Available Source column is not "winget" (see the attached .txt output for my Win 10 system with names sorted alphabetically and grouped by Available Source) then I believe these apps cannot be updated by a winget upgrade command.
