UCheck - Update your software in 2 clicks

I totally agree. I've never seen another software product that doesn't change the version numbers for different beta releases and stable releases. This is really confusing.

Or at least have the word "beta" in the name to differentiate between the beta and the release version

 

Skip This Update doesn't work anymore... it comes back on the next scan.

I think it means that the Portable tab of UCheck BETA v5.0.7.0 (posted today at https://download.adlice.com/UCheck/Beta/UCheck64.exe) is now beginning to show the STATUS (i.e., "Outdated" vs "Latest") for a few Portable apps. I'm hoping the number of Portable apps currently classified as Unsupported (no highlight) will gradually change to Community (grey highlight) as more users run this BETA and begin to populate the backend database with the version numbers of portable apps being used in the wider UCheck community.

For now it looks Autoruns and UCheck are the only two portable apps I have that are currently classified as Community (grey highlight) apps. AdwCleaner is still my only portable app classified as a fully supported Compatible (purple highlight) app.

Looking at my portable apps, I do see what you mean. Those two programs are the only ones I have that show a status as well.

I just got offered an update for Ultimate Windows Tweaker to version 5.1.0.0. This is only for Windows 11. I am on Windows 10. I am already on the latest version (4.8.0.0) for Windows 10.

At the very bottom of this page it shows what the latest version is for different versions of Windows.

Yeah unfortunately this goes way beyond the capabililty of the community feedback for now.

 

It means this BETA's only difference with stable is the ability to deal with Community feedback for portable apps.

 

Powershell will be moved to supported very soon.

 

Don't expect to catch up years of developements in just one month

Hi there,
I don't have time now for proper testing on the new beta, but a couple of things are clear:

1. Seems that the detection on regular programs (not portables) are not consistent with the previous beta. Just as an example, Glary Utilities has 40 entries instead of one. Looks like all the exe files are taken into account. There should be more cases like this one, as I have 109 updates available.

2. On the portable side: the missing detection that I had on the previous version are still missing in this one, namely:

The way Snappy Driver updates itself is downloading new SDIO*.exe files (where 758 is the version).

Moreover, there isn't an update available. 6.2.0.5 is the latest

 

@Tigzy after unselecting "Up-to-Date" on Portable tab all results disappear I have Latest, Outdated & NULL entries in the list.

 

I hate to ask any more of you than necessary as I know how busy you are and I can live with this. I was hoping it was something I could correct myself such as deleting the program and reinstalling it. Is there an easy way of seeing if the programs are installed in the right directory and moving it to the correct directory? I can wait until things settle down and address this later. Thanks...

As an info, the updates available on the installed programs shown now are 235 (I have 70 programs installed).
Just let me know if could be useful for you to have the list produced by UCheck (sent via PM).

Keep getting MS Edge as an update and there is no update from MS direct or via Edge its self. Keep excluding version but new one comes back with no update to get.

 

I have this issue with many more apps than Edge. uTorrent still not fixed, despite the Beta. I can skip it or ignore it, still comes back randomly on subsequent scans.
