I use ublock origin and the web of trust extensions in pale moon browser and i would like some advice please as to whether WOT is needed because ublock has malware domains filters which i have enabled.
What are the sources for the ublock malware filters.?

I know WOT uses google safe browsing etc but i dont wish to be using an extension if i dont really need it.

    Thanks.

activate hosts list in ublock and forget WOT.

    more lists http://hosts-file.net

at least WOT is a user set database

too bad - entries on the WOT list can be removed, not on the hosts file.

Ublock and WOT work quite differently.
The first is active as in blocking sites, the second is passive (by default) as in giving ratings to search results and letting you consult users opinions and decide yourself if opening the site.
They complement each other and don't conflict, leave them be.

Those are the 2 extensions I place on every machine I use or deal with. IMO, they don't overlap enough to keep WOT out of the loop.
