The column is important (to distinguish a switch name from a host name):
    Code:
    no-strict-blocking: da.feedsportal.com on

I got it, gorhill! uBlock (uBlock₀ !) 0.9.4.0 is a wise and much appreciated update to uBlock 0.9.3.0 which I've uninstalled (after having backuped my settings & rules)) previously as mentioned on your page https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases
This is what I was aiming at, having access to a strict blocking modification. I've tested and indeed as you mention the operation was present in 'My rules' ... allowing to revert. It's always been my philosophy, that is, whatever is started, to have a return ticket.
I also notice the new cosmetic flag which will prove to be both handy and useful.
And, gorhill -> your commitment is really appreciated. Just above, the way you precise things in order for them to be well understood, really nice attitude. Shake hands :)
I forgot : thanks. For everything.

A move, an attitude from Adblock Edge which corroborates the assumption that intelligence and honesty proceed from the same source. But that's another debate.
And for those who are new to uBlock I'd strongly advise to choose uBlock₀ (the original which became a fork for ironical it can be) rather than the now "official" uBlock... no demagogy, just compare uBlock₀ 0.9.4.0 [EDIT : 0.9.4.1 now] with uBlock 0.9.3.x (whatever it still is by now). The former improves uBlock in real-time, the latter seems to have adopted a "calm down" policy, less active when rather relaxed.

Now it's only a matter of time till the multinationals start to throw some coins towards the list maintainers.

When the goin' gets tough the tough get goin', when goin' gets rough the tough get rough : time to call the Untouchables, starting Robert Stack :)
I remain optimistic, should it be for the sole reason that IMO at least 50% +1 of our little planet's inhabitants make and will carry on making the world a better place even if Heaven's place will never be on Earth : that's life!

I'm bit of lost here because the development ownership changes. First Gorhill announced ceased development and transferred the project to a different person, than today we have another release of uBlock, called uBlock0. So can someone explain what happened without and which version of uBlock should I continue to use?

Also, I just installed the Chris Aljoudi fork of ublock, than went back to uBlock0 but both of them don't do what the 0.9.2.3 version of uBlock did, and that's the ability to block ads on (offline) local web pages. Can someone tell me how to enable this feature in the newest versions of uBlock? Thank you.

That said @gorhill, will you be maintaining the Firefox version of uBlock0 in future? Or could that fall away in time? I would prefer to stick with the original, without 'feature creep' but (as a Firefox user) not if the add-on will disappear ...

Plainly pragmatic : latest uBlock (official so to say) ver. 0.9.3.5 Beta 2 still doesn't take care of the issue I mentioned in a previous post, when uBlock0 (fork, so to say) does since ver. 0.9.4.0 with its new "Per-site switches can now be edited manually from within the "My rules" panes."
So I'll stick with uBlock0 0.9.4.0 (or 0.9.4.1 though it concerns chrome only)... it's as simple as that. Still don't understand why uBlock 0.9.3.5 Beta 2 introduces new cosmetic care for itself but doesn't handle what is far more necessary, per-site switches editable from within the "My rules" panes. Maybe within a month or so?

That's what I am wondering as well, as I rather stay with uBlock0 if the firefox version will stay alive :doubt: If not, then uBlock from Chris it is.

Me too. I will continue to use uBlock Origin version. Will only shift if either of the below are true -
    - If Chris version, gives me the tangible benefits over the former.
    - Or if it no longer works for firefox.

In the Extensions page, for uBlock Origin, check "Allow access to file URLs"; currently, chrisaljoudi's uBlock does not have this option.

With that said, I had moved over to chrisaljoudi's version when I thought that gorhill would abandon his completely, but now that I know he's still working on his fork, and even releasing updates more quickly (and I even saw an issue on chrisaljoudi's version that amounted to "please make these performance improvements that gorhill just made"), I'm planning to go back.

EDIT: I got this message, and now I know why I wasn't able to update on one computer: "Item not found. This item may have been removed by its author."
Unfortunately, you can't install extensions from outside the Web Store in Chrome Stable or Beta for Windows, so I'm SOL there.
gorhill has opened an issue about it: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/issues/50

    Changes:

Just to clear up misunderstanding: I will keep both the Chromium/Firefox working fine. I am not as familiar with the Firefox API as I am with the Chrome API, but nothing which I can't take on in the longer term, the same way I did not know anything about the Chrome API when I started HTTPSB. If anything, uMatrix on Firefox will be a good exercise in dealing with the intricacies of the Firefox API.

Hopefully the media exposure will help bring light to this issue of Google taking down apps without detailed reason. Gorhill created this from the ground up and dedicated a lot of his time. I sincerely hope that uBlock is back up in the store soon.

This whole thing still seems strange to me. However i trust Gorhill has our best interests at heart, he deserves a lot more repect and credit for his contribution.

This is unfortunate to happen. Atleast they should be more upfront and give the information for being taken down, rather than simply saying "violated our terms and policy.." :(

uBlock Origin's removal from the Chrome store is an inexcusable offense. If isn't added back soon with a mea culpa I'm finished with anything Google related.

uBlock Origin was reinstated to the Chrome Store. Pitchfork placed back in the corner.

Anyone know who is supposed to be maintaining the Opera extension :doubt:
In Opera store just gorhill's at version 09.23 (27 march)
This gets more confusing by the day ;)
