Ghoestry replaced ublock, upon advisement from 'Chrome' Chrome not supported software ublock. Ghost works fine! Months later, I asked, 'has it been resolved.'
Then the solution is a user workaround via adding a software patch, which will work till sometime in '25. When the author updates ublock to be compatible with Chome.
i may re-use it again. Replace something that needs a patch to work; replacing something that works well is not logical or critical.

Thank you for the information! It's a pass for me now.

    @summerheat Nice sig!

    Hi Rico,
The problem is Chrome's new MV3, Manifest V3.
uBlock Origin works with MV2 and cannot be adapted to work with MV3.
I think there must be some post somewhere in which the uBlock Origin developer explained why uBlock Origin cannot be adapted to work with MV3.
As mentioned, until June 2025, a workaround can be to enable ManifestV2Availability Chrome policy, but at some point Chromium users need to choose an alternative for uBlock Origin.

@Stupendous Man Thank you! This is a clear and concise post! It Sounds like uBlock, needs a total overhaul, & patch is the workaround till/if the new uBlock is adapted for Chrome. I'll wait!

    Hi Rico,
I'm sorry. I think you may have misunderstood. Perhaps my post was not clear.

As I mentioned, uBlock Origin can not be adapted to work with MV3. uBlock Origin cannot and will not be adapted to be compatible with Chromium browsers.
As I said, I think there must be some post somewhere in which the uBlock Origin developer explained why uBlock Origin cannot be adapted to work with MV3. Perhaps someone knows where to find such post by the developer.

At some point, Chromium users need to choose an alternative for uBlock Origin. Some users may choose uBlock Origin Lite (uBOL), some users may choose AdGuard, others may choose something else.

Thanks. Lot's to go through on Reddit. Trying to remove uBO filters that
may be outdated or no longer work for YouTube in My Filters.
I know errors as you mentioned show so that would include outdated/non-effect
    filters as well?

No. Filters that you created in 'My filters' and that are outdated, no longer work, or otherwise are not effective, but that have correct filter syntax, are not shown as errors. Only filter syntax errors are shown as errors.

Guys, can you check something out for me. Yahoo Finance has changed their design, cool and all, but I noticed that realtime streaming quotes don't always work.

With that I mean, that at first it works normally, but after a while the stock quotes aren't refreshed anymore. I can't seem to figure out if this is somehow caused by uBlock or not. So please leave the page open for at least 30 minutes or so, thanks in advance.

https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/MDB/ (stock quotes need to be refreshed every 2 to 5 seconds or so)

    Hi Rasheed,
I tested using Firefox 133.0 and uBlock Origin 161.2.
I had the intention to keep the tab open for at least 30 minutes. Meanwhile, I was busy in other tabs. Ten minutes later I checked the yahoo!finance tab and I noticed it had stopped refreshing already.
I haven't tested without uBlock Origin or with other browsers, so I cannot say what it is that causes the issue.

Tested on Firefox-esr with ublock origin 1.61.2, after few minutes realtime streaming doesn't work anymore, i've whitelisted the yahoo url and am still unable to view a refreshing of the value.

Guys, very much appreciated, thanks for checking. So I'm not crazy after all. Yahoo Finance should be ashamed for making such a mess. The thing is that with the old design I never had problems, it all started with the new design, yet Yahoo keeps claiming it's caused by adblockers. But Yahoo Finance should be able to work just fine with adblockers. These people should be fired! :gack:

BTW guys, is this something that would benefit uBlock? With that I mean, perhaps it should also implement this, or is it already capable of doing this? Or perhaps it can only be done by built-in adblockers since they won't be hindered by MV3?

BTW, perhaps you guys can try it one more time with Tesla's stock, since this is a bit more active than MongoDB. What I've noticed is that it stops refreshing after a while, but if you then scroll up and down, it might start to refresh again. And also pay attention to the bars in the right bottom of the screen (with Top Losers, Top Gainers, Most Active), strangely enough they seem to work most of the time.

That tab kept open, revisited in 30 minutes, and Tesla stock quotes, Top Gainers, and Top Losers still being refreshed.
    Same as Rules reported.

uBlock Origin has lost its featured badge in the Microsoft Store.
uBlock Origin Lite still does not have the featured badge.
