I don't know of a custom filter list for Yahoo sites, but perhaps someone else does.
What exactly is it that you would like to block on Yahoo sites?
Is what you want to block a certain element (or multiple elements) on all Yahoo sites? Or on specific sites only?
I guess it would be possible to create filter rules using the element picker.

Click on yahoo.txt > click on "Raw" on the new page > copy the URL and make sure it includes "raw" in it.
    upload_2024-8-29_18-24-35.png upload_2024-8-29_18-26-6.png

Open µBO filters page > Scroll to bottom of the page > Click on \/ arrow @ Import > Paste copied URL into custom field > Click "Apply changes" at top of page.

You should see it added to your custom filter list.

    Thanks, @Dragon1952 and @Bertazzoni.

For me, using Firefox and uBlock Origin,
    on the page https://github.com/liamengland1/miscfilters,
the link "Click here to add Yahoo list" does not open the miscfilters yahoo.txt page to copy the URL.

If I use the Firefox context menu to open the URL in a new tab, I get:
"Server Not Found" "We can’t connect to the server at subscribe.adblockplus.org."
    https://subscribe.adblockplus.org/?location=https://raw.githubusercontent.com/liamengland1/miscfilters/master/yahoo.txt

But I can select and copy this part:
    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/liamengland1/miscfilters/master/yahoo.txt
That URL is what can be imported into uBlock Origin.

It is nice to have but UBO won't be working much longer.

Do you mean because of Google Chrome's transition to Manifest V3?
I see your signature mentions Google Chrome.
Do you know there is an option to extend Manifest V2 support for an additional year via a policy?
Over on MalwareTips, nicolaasjan posted a Windows policy for Chrome/Chromium (a .reg file), see:
    https://malwaretips.com/threads/resuming-the-transition-to-manifest-v3.127223/#post-1065546
Perhaps it was posted here on Wilders as well, I might have missed that.

BTW, can you block the chart on Yahoo Finance? I have made multiple of rules with the element picker, but it still won't go away. BTW, Yahoo Finance has changed the look of the website, it looks like crap, the older version was better.

Only the chart, or the elements above or below as well?

To hide only the chart, the element picker offers these two rules, picking one of the two is sufficient:
    finance.yahoo.com##.yf-1e9uyx5.quote-chart
    finance.yahoo.com##.yf-16l74m3.chart

However, Yahoo may vary the code, so that on a next visit, the chart may be back.
To circumvent that, I clear a part of the filter rules and replace that with *
That results in these two rules, picking one of the two is sufficient:
    finance.yahoo.com##*.quote-chart
    finance.yahoo.com##*.chart

Note that these *rules may hide charts on other finance.yahoo.com pages as well.

Thanks, I think this was indeed the problem that there wasn't a global rule that you could make because the charts kept coming back. I don't know what happened but I made a couple of more rules with the element picker, and I now don't see the charts anymore.

The reason why I wanted to remove them is because I don't want to scroll in order to see the day range of a stock, in the old Yahoo Finance design the chart was smaller, such idiots. But this also showcases why uBlock Lite should have an element picker.

This filter removes the Yahoo home page search bar.

BTW, for what it's worth, these are the rules that I had to make to get rid of the charts. Also, the new design of Yahoo Finance isn't ad bad as I thought, but the homepage is a bit too chaotic. And I have a 14 inch laptopscreen, but on bigger screens the charts are not a problem.

    Code:

Don't forget Chrome type browser users to check the Ublock extension for it being supported due to Google's new rules for third-party extensions.

Just put type chrome://extensions in your address bar.

Vivaldi warns me about supporting it but Edge doesn't warn me yet.

Because Edge and therefore Microsoft has its own Store.
You may have noticed that uBlock Origin in the Microsoft Store is always in the foreground.

    And there is no warning:

This extension may no longer be supported because......

i use uBo and others as folders. i may use it until the bitter end.
if users are able to use developer mode in edge or chrome - just use it. load extension from folder...
and use the registry hack for extended time to 2025

I only use Yahoo for fantasy sports, so I didn't realize the search bar was missing until you mentioned it. I use the filter list mostly to block Yahoo's many headache-inducing flashing banners that Firefox can't disable (and a similar list to block flashing banners on Yandex).

This is a self-hosted version as uBO Lite is no longer available on AMO, see #197. The extension will auto-update when a new version is published.

thanks. from my view its death of uBoL on AMO, it definitely is. anyhow it wont end the usage of uBo because of MV2.

but - gorhill is some kind of "strange" reaction, i consider. i had a similar review my modified extension and i explained the modified files and its purpose. nothing happend, its still available for me (no one else, its complete private). its a random chosen review, nothing to worry or rant about.
his choice, and death of uBoL for firefox. i dont intend to change to uBoL because its very limited in comparison to adguard.
i have read a lot of this kind of notices of him, but nothing compared to this one. he should explain that files and its purpose, nothing easier than this for him. it took myself some images and some explanation text, half an hour work. is this expected too much? i dont think so.
