i dont use so i dont know vivaldi, i have dropped vivaldi and opera years ago, even chrome. last year i dropped chromium for edge, although i know the benefits of certain builds. (excluded the ungoogled)
you need to ask R* how he got resolved or want to resolve his dozen of mismatches we cant reproduce.

so yes, like vivaldi may interfere with uBo it may possible that LW interferes with uBo, i gave you an example in the LW thread where LW failed.

ubo works best in firefox, ofc, because of changes in chrome, that have not to mean it works worse now, but not that effective as in firefox. but, i have it installed in edge, but not active, i try to get along with Adguard MV3 which is doing a nice job, but edge is only a fallback or test browser.

anyhow any firefox based is not really comparbale to chromium based builds, but both have its pros (and less cons).

see how uBo lite will evolve. keep it up.

    I use Vivaldi and ubo.
I don't have any issues with them really.

On Win 11 and Win 10 I change the Vivaldi blocking settings regularly for testing.

How do you get rid of the news and other crap at the bottom of the Bing search page?

I already tried the element picker. It only got rid of the background and dropped the cosmetic entries. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I did not think about doing parts of it below the search bar. Your entries got rid of them. I guess I need to learn how to use the picker. I always just clicked an area like with the zapper and that always worked for me.

    OK, that's good.
But you'd need only one of the three that I showed.
All three worked for me. However, I did not test whether one of them might have undesirable effects, like hiding something that you did not want hidden.

If you use the 'Block element' entry in your browser's context menu, the element picker mode is opened, and an element and a filter are selected, but you can change the element (area) you want to block, and you can change the filter.
If you open the element picker through the extension's popup menu, no element is selected yet, you can select the element (area) you want to block, and you can change the filter.
The preview option can be used to see whether the selected element (area) and the selected filter have the effect that you want.

This is the wiki's element picker documentation:

Is there interest in a tiny filter list for very common cookie notices and annoyances? I've been amassing so many, including generic ones, that I might consider publishing it on Github alongside my Grayware Blocklist.

ublock lists (3) are not enough?
but, the answer is no, there exist no list which cover the 1000+1 consents, and in some cases there is no other way round to get website working as designed.

I know it wasn't directed to me, but like I said before, I'm basically using uBlock just like I used Ghostery in the past. I don't know the meaning of Dynamic Filtering and stuff. It's very simple, when I want to block stuff that isn't blocked yet, I often use the element picker, which makes cosmetic rules. And sometimes you need to unblock stuff. Just yesterday, I noticed that YouTube wouldn't load correctly, so I had to allow google.com in the matrix and the problem was solved. So you don't need to have in-depth knowledge in order to use uBlock Origin.

Thanks, I think I'm getting the hang on this logger thing, I have used it a couple of times trying to figure out how to unblock stuff.

I haven't followed all if the discussion, but in general there are no problems with using uBlock on Vivaldi, just make sure you don't use Vivaldi's built-in adblocker at the same time. Brummelchen may have misunderstood me.

    OK then I misunderstood.

It's kinda strange though, that on Waterfox blank spaces are blocked, but not on Vivaldi and Edge. I wish uBlock could detect the blank spaces, without me having to make cosmetic filters to get rid of them. I recently saw them on Gizmodo and Yahoo Finance, see screenshots.

So you don't get to see any blank spaces? I don't see how it would be caused by a misconfiguration though. It might be that certain features work better in Firefox, who knows.

No blank spaces on Gizmodo and Yahoo Finance in Chromium either.

    [Edit]
Do you perhaps have cosmetic fitering set to off (eye icon)?
Then you'll see the blank space.

As already mentioned it's your cosmetic filtering setting in uBO.
no-cosmetic-filtering: gizmodo.com false results in no blank spaces.

Exactly which PortableApps.com links cannot be clicked,
and what are your (non default) uBlock Origin filter lists?

    @Mr.X,
I cannot locate the Home link or the three Navigation links. I guess one needs to be logged in for those. The other links I can click perfectly.
I think you'd best disable your non-default filter lists one by one to find out which is interfering with the PortableApps.com links.

Yeah, one must be logged in for those links to be available.
That's the reason I came here to comment so someone that suffered this before might pass the solution. I wanted to spare me the troubleshooting :argh:
Guess I have no other option...
