Not a complaint, just an observation:

Today I notice the RSS Feeds icons are visible on Wilders'. It wasn't always like that so I'm not certain if it's uBO or a forum update.

Seems like a change in a filter list as it affects Brave and Edge now too. Is there an easy way to remove the RSS Feed icons?

This seems to work in Firefox
    Code:
    ! 2023-04-19 https://www.wilderssecurity.com
    www.wilderssecurity.com##.feedIcon.tinyIcon > .fa-rss-square.fa

I'm still on 1.48.4. Is this still the case w/everyone who is running Firefox? The Moz store likewise has the 1.48.4 version. I wonder what the hold up is. Currently it's on 1.49.0 but I understand an intermediate build wasn't necessary for Firefox users as it pertained to chromium browsers.

C'mon Moz, what is the holdup? :cautious:

Also, I don't if it was here or at MalwareTips--someone was concerned about Kees1958 list not working for some reason. I installed the list from link on MT (I think, it's been a while) but it's offline. It doesn't populate and the tiny message says there's a network error preventing it from updating.

So I wonder if the maintainer pulled it himself. I'm going to remove it now from my dashboard, it was only to see if it was still functional and it doesn't seem to be at this time. :(

Edit: just found this on GitHub--hmmm. I don't see Kees1958 himself there any more.

    https://github.com/mikynov/kees1958-most-used-ad-hosts

    Anyone have any additional info?

Edit: OK, I see that Sampei Nihira has indicated some issues with that list earlier (at top of this page). OK, never mind.

You linked to the deprecated host version of Kees1958 filter list. The ABP version is still maintained. Last update 2023-04-11.

On ghacks.net, things have gotten so bad (see https://www.ghacks.net/latest-posts/), that users have come up with a uBlock Origin filter rule to only show articles by the respected authors Martin Brinkmann, Mike Turcotte, and Ashwin.
    Code:
    ghacks.net##.hentry,.home-posts,.home-category-post:not(:has-text(/Martin Brinkmann|Mike Turcotte|Ashwin/))

Crazy, indeed. It shows what uBlock, in fact any ad blocker allowing custom rules, is capable of with appropriate custom rules.

Much better. I stopped going there because of the overload on articles. I recall Brinkmann was looking for some help with the articles, but I wasn't expecting that. To many authors for my likes.

A few more authors wouldn't necessarily be so bad, but momentarily subjects and quality of the articles are terrible.
But I'm getting off-topic from uBlock, I guess.

Thanks. Out of curiosity, this means no more list for uBO specifically? Just AdBlock Plus?

This is an example of a rule I use to hide a specific troll posts:
    Code:
    www.ghacks.net##.opacity--90.comment-item__header:has-text(ChromeFan):upward(.comment-item)

You can test on e.g. this comment.
    :D

And indeed, gHacks is not what it used to be...

Thanks for that! It makes GHacks a lot more usable for me.

My filters to block the annoying cookie notice on said website:
    Code:
    www.ghacks.net##.didomi-popup__backdrop.didomi-notice-popup.didomi-popup-backdrop
    www.ghacks.net##body:style(overflow: auto !important;)

A TB uBlock extension has been available since 2019. I started using it on Thunderbird with the v129.2 extension from 2020 for my RSS feeds.

Thanks on that heads up @Stupendous Man -
I only ever use Firefox on occasions but it is useful having uBlock Origin with it up-to-date.
