    Thanks @stapp .

I haven't read all of that thread yet but decided to remove bing.com as my home page in Firefox.

I NEVER sign into any M$ account, nor do I ever search with Bing. I just enjoyed their daily image, which for a while I guess I'll probably miss. I will however get over it.

    Default home page it is.

    Cheers.

I tried the 'Picker'. Your link shows exactly the same as bing.com. I don't see your point.

you asked for a solution - concerning ublock, that is a solution for ublock.
removing bing is another one but is not tied to ublock.
and you did not mention that you already used the picker nor does it seem that the linked thread is helping you out.

Using the uBlock Origin element picker (on Firefox), picking this filter did not help:
    www.bing.com##.below_sbox

But if I pick one of the below filters, that gets rid of the 'Introducing the new Bing' block:
    www.bing.com##.cdxAcrylicAnimated.cdxAcrylic
    www.bing.com##.cdxPrompt

BTW, another problem with imdb.com that you guys can perhaps check out: I just noticed to my surprise that when I save IMDB pages and open them from disk, I still get to see ads! They were apparently not blocked from loading but only hidden! Do you guys also get to see ads on imdb.com, and can they be blocked with a network filter?

    please provide an example.

dots? you speak about the loading dots from firefox?
"loading dots" from firefox means that firefox has to load more content.
in case of certain web pages this is possible when server creates content on scrolling.
google images search is such example, server creates additional content while scrolling.

I tried to take out the ChatGPT box on the Bing homepage with the Element Picker and naturally, it didn't work. It tool out half the page behind it though but no ads. :thumb: Lots of news stories there and multiple places to click and sign in.

Too busy for my liking. Firefox plain homepage--no frills.

Still on 1.48.0 version for uBO. Guess I'll get it from Moz again--it's like watching a kettle start to boil--if you're all over it, it never happens.

Did you try one of these two filters that I mentioned?

Oh no, Stupendous Man, I was just making an idle comment. That ChatGPT thing is so embedded in there, it's not even funny.

I am actually not interested in Bing search, just wanting to see what was going on.

Edit: the second option works, though. :thumb:

Oh wow, was on Twit just now and it seems 1.48.4 is out. For anyone who is interested:

    https://twitter.com/ublockorigin/status/1642299060450123777

It seems gorhill is "unable to publish in the Chrome Web Store." o_O Could this have something to do w/Manifest v. 3 or?

Edit: just checked the Chrome store, it's still on 1.48.0. Hmmm.:cautious: Chromium and Firefox are currently pending.

Thank you kind sir. The first one did the trick. :thumb:
If you mean Bing settings, that wouldn't be a solution as I clear cookies and cache when closing Firefox. Thanks though.

    You're welcome, Krusty.
In my test, both filters worked.
In the preview, I didn't notice any difference, however I guess there may be differences.

Probably Gorhill's advice to change browsers is overkill, but forum members who wish to use the latest available version of UBO should consider installing the extension from Github with the loading an unpacked.

Another method to install updated UBO from the CWS (without changing the browser as recommended by Gorhill) is to use uBlock Origin development build:

Edge is asking about such installed extensions with a regular period, bit annoying.

Perhaps it's a good idea to start quoting people, otherwise it becomes confusing. But it's very simple, load the two imdb.com sites and tell me if you scroll to the bottom, do you see everything instantly or will you get to see a small one/two second delay while it loads certain content?

    Opera is also on 1.48.4.
Chrome just got the update to 1.48.4.
    Only Firefox is on 1.48.2.

imdb is such page which offers dynamic content - content creating when scrolling down. 1 second delay here, but thats a server side issue, not mine.
i thought this way while writing my previous answer, thank you, i will look into while easter seasons.
