What does the video actually show? Is it a blank window? What are "proper modifications?"

I can see the video fine and without ads on Firefox 94.0.1 with Strict settings and NextDNS. uBO default filter lists are enabled. That meat thing looks yummy. :thumb:

General question: does resetting Firefox back to default settings (refresh) affect all profiles?

    Hi,:)
evidently the problem is not UBO, but is probably in the Firefox settings.

Thanks for all the answers but the solution was simpler and it was "my" fault.
When the page first loading she asks for cookie consent. I choose to accept only the necessary cookies and not all so the video did not load. When I accept all the cookies
    voilà the video.

Some doubt, as you will notice,
I see in Edge the video with third party cookies blocked:

    Immagine.jpg

No consent with my few lists.

You are somehow wrong. Try this: In Edge try loading the page clean refresh or in private window so that you have the table with the cookies. I tried in Chrome incognito with thirdparty cookies disabled and only when I choose accept all cookies the video is enabled otherwise when i choose necessary only the video is being blocked.

OK, I see. :) Yes, in Firefox, the "strict" setting does not specify third party cookies, just cross-site ones (which doesn't work as a cookie for akispetretzikis ended up here as a cross-site tracker) and known tracking cookies.

The video works with as many as 16 third-party cookies blocked as you can see:

    Immagine.jpg

    :);)

    P.S.

Moreover, my "Strict" detection prevention has blocked 54 trackers:

It's good to be careful to allow everything indiscriminately in that website.:thumb:;)

FWIW, I also block 3rd-party cookies in FF and the video played fine.

Maybe it is better to set "Custom", as recommended in the article below:

"hardening firefox" - some of the settings may help out, nevertheless mozillas telemetry is complete anonymous, no hidden id or similar, no names, just pure stats, its much more less than a crash report will show you.

    critism:
    "Harden SSL preferences"
thats a stupid setting - the cert routines and certs itself are very trustable, to disable some sha causes trouble, a lot of trouble, not only on mega storage servers.

    "Disable Firefox account features"
if you dont use it then nothing happens in background.

    "Disable geolocation support"
no geo, no pocket - simple as that. pocket depends on used language and location, if those two dont match pocket shows, tadaaa: nothing.

    "Disable WebRTC [L2]
WebRTC can potentially expose your real IP address..."

Any server can read your provider given IP, because he must send back data for content. "real adress" is totally wrong, my real IP is in LAN, not the same as some provided. and ofc webrtc need a provided ip to establish a _direct_ connection to another chat user. If you dont use webrtc there is no need to block.

    "Disable referrer headers"
welcome to locked pages. firefox is able to refer only to same servers, 0 here is a stupid settings.

its the same aluhelmet distribution as the stupid privacy-handbuch _ de. and it dont tell the whole truth about the named settings.

With geolocation disabled on Firefox, some sites (e.g., Kroger / Instacart) won't work at all. I find it much better to leave geolocate at default, and just deny as needed per site. (If you don't like Google, you can change the geolocation provider to Mozilla as shown below.) GEO.png

i had a look at it, seems a smooth form of getting firefox some more private.
and i followed the link to malwarebytes which is outdated, 2015. privaytools is also outdated, there is currently a limited group of addons available for firefox (final), the nightly is able to install a defined collection (from AMO, i do so)

i dont abandon the link before, but those tips should only be tested with a profile backup and after further investigations, i already mentioned a lot of side effect which make firefox fail in several switches.

i appreciate it when users investigate time into firefox settings and beyond. some settings in pref are valuable, others not.

what i need to try out are these settings starting with
    browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.

    i hope i get rid of this \personality-provider\ -> nb_model_build_attachment_ files

my user.js rises to 139 entries.

Can you tell me if you encounter more websites with this setting than before that are malfunctioning?
    Thank you.
    :thumb::)

    P.S.

I didn't set this setting on my daughter's pc because many institutional websites in my country, especially with SPID login, might not work and my daughter doesn't have my gift to understand on the fly what's wrong.
It's normal, thank God, she didn't follow in her father's footsteps and has a completely different job.:thumb::D:D

Fantastic! So I drop the extension in Firefox and add the filter--a few less active than yours. One less extension is always welcome. :thumb:
