Gorhill, I am on Chrome OS and I am trying the latest version of ublock with the new and improved dynamic filtering and the + button to bring the filtering diagram out is basically broken on Chrome OS I have only got it to open one or two times and that is when I refreshed the page and open umatrix right after I refreshed the page so I can not play youtube videos unless I disable dynamic filtering because I can not configure it.

I don't have ChromeOS, difficult for me to reproduce. I am assuming you are using Chrome though? I expect it to work as well as Chromium. So if I understand, you see the `+` button, but you can't click on it? The mouse pointer is supposed to change to a pointing finger if you hover over the `+` sign. Does this happen? I was just about to ship..

I put on a new version in the releases section, with very minor CSS changes, but can you check if it helps?

Yes, Chrome is the only browser you can use on Chrome OS. Yes the mouse pointer changes to a pointing finger but when I click it is dead...except on a new tab in Chrome with nothing on it. I will check the new version and get back with you.:thumb::cool: P.S.: Also sent you a reply to the pm I sent yesterday

I tried to click on the + button but it does not show my mouse in the screenshot but I kept on clicking on the plus button and it just highlighted the words.

One well-placed click is enough. If you click multiple times it ends up being interpreted as double-click by the browser and it means to select whatever word is under the mouse.

Can you right-click on the + sign? Normally a context menu with an entry "Inspect element" should appear.

Actually, you can even click on the "requests blocked" label, it is supposed to work too.

Yes, I can right click on the + sign and it does show inspect element I guess you want me to copy and paste the info? If I click the request blocked it does not work. It is like it is "dead"

All look fine. Leave the dev tools window open, and try to click the label again, and see if tehre are errors reported in the console -- or errors reported in the extensions page ("Collect errors"). I can't explain why it doesn't work.

Actually, something does not look normal: I can see that the dynamic filtering pane was filled with data, but somehow it's not causing the popup to expand it appears. What version of Chrome are you using?

Somebody else reported a similar problem: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/issues/470

So I think I understand what is happening. I always assumed that the popup resizes automatically whenever the size of the content changes in whatever way, but it appears it is not the case. The fix should be trivial if this is what is happening. Good thing this was caught before I published.

    New release available.

I threw in the ability to force-refresh the page from the popup -- useful when trying to un-break pages (1. change filter, 2. refresh, 3. see if page fixed, 4. goto 1 if not, etc.)

Very nice, Raymond, thanks! Now I know I'm a demanding individual :D but is there any chance you can modify the Dynamic filtering expansion window to re-size itself accordingly to the number of entries it contains? This would reduce the amount of scrolling required. Also, any way to add a temporary release and lock buttons? :cautious:

    EDIT

giving this some thought, maybe it's better if I just use uMatrix instead, since it has the features i'm looking for in uBlock, plus I can just enable some ad block lists to get more or less the effect of a combined ad blocker/script blocker. What it boils down to is I'm looking to reduce to one extension to keep things a little lighter.

@gorhill is creating a noop rule more secure then a green always allow rule I am thinking it see pic. Is my ublock setting secure? If I just always allow with a noop rule what I want only on that site and block everything else?

A noop rule is better because it retains the static filtering. Allow outright (green) bypasses the static filtering.
