I guess they actually switch content delivery - I don't see that foorprint.net even when accessed from German IP and don't need to noop ioam.de to play podcast.

    @wat0114 @summerheat
Note, tho quite rare, sometimes doubleclick or google-analytics need to be allowed. The redirect rule is to make the site to "think" google-analytics was fired. It's not only for google-analytics and solves some false positive w/out allowing the request, but this technique requires a bit deeper knowledge about filtering syntax than simple exception. BTW nice filter choice, I have seen many terrible filter set while helping AdGuard team.

[EDIT] Now on a different profile w/ the same uBO version, I see footprint.net which is the only thing need to be nooped.

Yeah it seems content delivery could be different now. In the morning I needed ioam.de but now I don't see it.

Yeah, that's a reminder that if someone uses additional huge filterlists that block all sorts of stuff, noop rules might not be sufficient to fix a site. A noop rule means that static filtering (aka the enabled filterlists) is used - but if only one of those lists is overzealous it's well possible that a site is still broken.

Indeed, I think some are piling on far more filter lists than they need, then they wonder why sites are breaking on them.

The attack is two-fold - first the extension injected codes when web owners were editing their sites, then after they're saved and published visitors see ads. While the ads on the second step can be blocked by uBO (script src seems to be linkjager[.]org, which means those who employ default-deny 3p script are protected), there's no reason for uBO to block the initial injection.

I assume you mean Fanboy's annoyance list, that list is not enabled by default and I would caution every non advanced user before enabling it.
It will cause more breakage than default lists.

Do you have website/s for testing uBlock Origin Extra on new Edge.
I opened several websites on the list and they opened and presented okay (afaik) with uBlock Origin Extra Off.
    https://github.com/gorhill/uBO-Extra/wiki/Sites-on-which-uBO-Extra-is-useful
I'm curious to see Extra be useful on new Edge.
I'm curious to see Extra be useful on Chrome, too.
    Thanks

It looks to be from Nik Rolls, and it's an older version. I just installed latest uBlockO for Chrome, v1.24.4, into new Edge from the Chrome store. You just have to allow extensions from other stores.

I used to be able to see Extra useful on Chrome with websites on the list.
Now, websites look the same with Extra on n' off - Chrome and new Edge.
I'm curious if something changed since Extra update September 9, 2019.
I remember lifewire.com was easy to see Extra useful.
I'll have to test entire list.
    Thanks

afaik, at least one anti-ad block filter list must be active for it to work.

    Oh!.....anti-ad block filter.
Okay, as test > added Adblock Warning Removal List & AdGuard Annoyances Filter Anti-Adblock.
    -
Edit: I used to be able to see difference w/wo Extra.
Now, I'm not seeing difference w/wo Extra.
Browser Task Manager does not report Extra.

Extra works without any additional subscription filter (besides, I won't call Adblock Warning Removal List or AdGuard Annoyances as anti-adblock filter tho they remove some unobtrusive messages).
I don't remember where but think I've read a discussion that the Extra is no more much needed. Hope @gorhill drop in and explain for us.

OK thanks, we already spoke about this in another thread, so I guess I misunderstood you. I thought you claimed that it was possible on a technical level, but apparently it's depends on a certain browser API. I wonder if it will be added to Chromium, I hope Brave and Vivaldi can play some role. But the problem is that development is mostly done by Google and M$, so let's see how serious they are about privacy.

Thanks a lot, this seems to fix the problem. :thumb:

I don't know why websites add this dumb nonsense to their site, it's pointless. That's why I have also blocked fonts.googleapis.com on a global level.
