Lately in Firefox uBO is no longer blocking the RSS icons on wilderssecurity.com. They are blocked in Chrome. Anyone else seeing this? I wonder if it is something to do with the latest FF release (62)?

@Krusty I see the RSS icons (in FF 62), but tbh I don't know if they were there before the v62 update, or not.

Yeah, I never used to see them, Paul. I don't know what changed but I don't see them in Chrome.

Do you have selected "Fanboy's Annoyance List"?
This list included a static filter "##.fa-rss-square". Result = the RSS icon wasn't shown.
But the latest version of this list doesn't include it anymore.

Just put the above filter into "My filters" and the RSS icon is gone.

I also didn't understand it, but I downloaded it from GitHub and it works in both FF 52 and FF 62. But apparently they are different versions.

Anyone have uBlock addon working for Thunderbird 60?

I'm in the process of migrating from Thunderbird 52.9.1 and the legacy extension of ublock is no longer supported. I tried installing the latest WE addon, but you can't do anything with it since the options for it can't be viewed. The uBlock icon from the Add-on options entry in the tools context menu is broken and missing in the Customize panel. I hope Gorhill can fix this easily.

Same here. The problem is that Thunderbird 60 does not yet support webextensions. Full WE support is expected from v. 63+. This means that right now the legacy version would need some adjustments. @gorhill knows that. Relevant documents are:

Guys, I have 2 questions. First of all, is the "normal" uBlock version a legitimate project, see link? Because I noticed it popped up on Vivaldi, that's another thing I hate about Chromium. And to Gorhill, I've noticed that Yahoo Finance has been acting weirdly the last week, can this be caused by the newest uBlock Origin? The page never seems to load fully, but I do need to test it some more.

    @Rasheed187

this is the truly legitimate and recommended uBlock Origin extension developed by @gorhill (Raymond Hill):

    Code:

    also here:

But the other one is available for download on the Chrome store, then who developed that? I used it for a couple of weeks on Vivaldi, because uBlock Origin became corrupted and there was no way to fix it. It seemed to function normally but I hope it's not some rogue extension. There's also another one named uBlock Plus Adblocker:

"Legitimate" depends on your definition. I just say I won't use it again. I once used, when Chris inherited it but no more after seeing what he had done. Sorry I leave detailed explanation to someone else. IIRC it also recently caught by sending some info.
No idea for uBlock Plus Adblocker.

I use the term "legitimate" in this case because I know from history, research and reputation that the Raymond Hill project is the original and, imho, the best of them all. It has no equal. The rest are spin-offs.

In fact, anyone unfamiliar with any of them, including the original, in search of an ad blocker could search "ublock" in Chrome store and the results will clearly show the original is by far the most popular, increasing the chance they will chose the "legitimate" one.

I'm having an issue with this site when using uBO (v1.16.20) in FF Quantum - https://www.engadget.com

After setting to block 3rd-party scripts and 3rd-party frames whenever I surf the above site uBO will turn itself off i.e. the icon grays out. Looks like not blocking anything because all domains are green. No issue with other sites and no issue with Chrome

    Is this a bug?

Edit - It should read v1.16.20 instead of v1.18.20

I haven't been using Advanced Mode but just enabled it and I can't find a way to manually add rules for Decentraleyes in Firefox or Chrome. The Decentraleyes instructions mention an "Edit" button but I don't have an "Edit" button.

    Any help?

OK, I got or worked out. First I had to paste the rule in the search box, if the rule doesn't exist I then had to paste it to Temporary Rules, then Save it, finally I then had to Commit it. Surely there's a quicker way?
