Turning Off Facebook Location Tracking Doesn't Stop It From Tracking Your Location December 18, 2018 https://gizmodo.com/turning-off-facebook-location-tracking-doesnt-stop-it-f-1831149148
What is it that people don't understand about FB? You're supposed to voluntarily submit yourself to data slavery and not complain! This person is complaining as if they were reputable, ethical people.
The problem is that you can't trust any of these companies anymore, even if you disable certain features, they simply don't care. It's a worrying trend. I'm guessing that Google and M$ also keep tracking you, even if you disable tracking and telemetry in browser and OS.
You are right, you can't trust them. Maybe at first, in the beginning, they were all fuzzy-warm-feel-good don't be evil etc....so that they could lure users in. But at the end and especially when certain user base treshold has been reached and especially, when the company has been listed, there is only one thing that matters to them: Profit.
Facebook is an bona fide addiction for many. Facebook knows this and contrives to profit from it. The rationale is that it's a symbiotic relationship. Isn't that spiffy?
