Hi there, I visit many security sites and other respected BBS's, but my security settings in "Internet" are set to "Disable scripting, active X etc" Naturally, as you expect, 98% of the sites I visit bring up the warning dialogue. To add all the sites I visit into the "Trusted Site" zone, that enables scripting, active X, etc, I would be copy and pasting the base URL's for the next 100 years :) Is there an easier way to add sites to the trusted zone, without having to go thru six mouse clicks each time to hit on a site that you know is trusted (Like this one, hehe)or a software app that will do the job for you. Its not that I'm lazy, but it will take me forever...Cheers Chris

  2. Hi again, for the benefit of other people reading this thread, there is a neat utility, available from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/previous/webaccess/pwrtwks.asp (129kb) thats adds two options to the "tools" menu in IE 5.50

    "Add to trusted Zone"
    "Add to restricted zone"

This saves numerous clicks that you needed to do before to add a site to a trusted zone. More info on the thread can be seen at:http://www.lurkhere.com/forum600.html

Thanks to Mosaic! for the reasearch!

I got a zip file from someone at DSL reports that does that, but it puts two buttons on the taskbar that you can just click. Pretty darned
    cool.

Merge that .reg file in and then save the icons to c:\windows\system. Then customize your taskbar and add those two buttons.

If you have nt/2k/xp, you'll have to edit the file to point to winnt\system32 or some such.

Green button puts the current site in the trusted zone, red in the restricted zone.

    edit:
Forgot to mention. You have to have that power tweaks thing mentioned above for this to work. It works on IE 5.5 to IE 6. Not sure about IE 5.01.
