I have been having an issue with TrueImage 8 on certain Dell machines. I have a few Inspirion laptops and a few Dimension PCs where when I boot to the recovery media and choose to restore and hit next, the machine reboots. Even if I make another other choose like create image, it reboots. I have had good success with this product but lately on these Dell machines its been no good. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the rebooting when I choose to restore? I appreciate any help. Thanks.

    Hello phess,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please make sure that you use the latest build (937) of Acronis True Image 8.0 which is available at: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/

To get access to updates you should create an account at:
    http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/
then log in and use your serial number to register your software.

Please recreate the bootable rescue media with the latest build and see whether the problem still persists.

If the problem still persists, please download and install Acronis True Image 9.0 trial version, create the bootable rescue media with it and try to restore an image.

If that doesn't help, please create Acronis Report and Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

Please create an account, then log in and submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.

Please indicate which models you are referring to and which OS they are running. I have not had any such problems on my laptops and desktops.

Downloading the update to version 8 and making new bootable media fixed the problem. THANK YOU.
