Truecrypt: Direct Mode not available for hidden volume creation?

    I have created a normal TC volume on a HDD partition.
    I wish to create a hidden volume inside it.

    I do not get the screen in step 5.
    I directly get to "outer volume" creation screen.

    Anyone encountered this problem?

    This is in linux.
