    Hello,

Our Company is thinking about switching to acronis for a backup/restore software on the machines we ship (Metal Cutting lasers and Press brakes). Right now we are using ghost and it is sort of antiquated in it's abilities and ease of use for customers.

The one issue we have always had is that some of our machines ship with no keyboard or mouse, just a touch screen. To get around the navigation in restoring an image, we had to load the serial drivers in the dos bootdisk to allow us to touch. But now most of our machines get usb touch contollers, but those certain machines still retain the serial ones. But I would like to get to one usb controller for all machines.

The acronis emergency cd has no problems detecting the usb controller, the problem is that the controller is calibrated for 1024x768, which is the normal windows resolution. Acronis comes up in a lower resolution which throws the calibration out of wack, and you cannot touch the right places.

So finally to my question. Is there any way to force acronis to a higher resolution in the boot manager??

    Thanks
    For any info

    Hi Shollz,

Bart's pre-installation CD (BartPE) with the True Image plugin will enable you to run the bootable rescue version of True Image under 1024x768 resolution.

If you are not familiar with BartPE CD creation I would advise you to look for a thread on the BartPE topic in this forum. There, you will find more information, the necessary links and some advice, if needed.

    Good luck.

Addendum: If you only need to backup and restore the whole disk (not particular files or folders), the official Acronis True Image ver.8 plugin will do. I think it's easier to create the BartPE CD with ver.8 plugin than with the unofficial ver.9.

    Hello Shollz,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

Yes, there is, but it cannot be done without our assistance. The point is that if you have already purchased any of the 9.1 corporate family products then we can provide you with the special ISO image of the Bootable Rescue CD which boots into the GUI with the higher resolution.

If you want to obtain such ISO image then please submit a request for technical support with the subject indicating that you want to contact Marian Fadeeva. Provide a brief description of your issue along with the link to this thread and any information confirming your purchase of Acronis software in your request. Marian will certainly provide you with the special ISO image mentioned above.

    Thank you.
