    Hi,

i have a desicion to make for a backup solution and have a question:

How will be renamed, deleted and moved files handled in the case of a restore?
For Example: Sunday Full Backup, incremental Backup every day.
Monday: Move File A from Drive C: to D:
    Tuesday: Delete File C
Wednesday: Rename File B to BA
Thursday: Restore Full Backup with all incremental Backups.

Will this changes be recognised or what happens with them?
    In the worst case
File A appears on C: AND D: (Full and Mondays incr. backup)
File C reappers on the HDD but it was deleted (Full and Tuesdays incr. Backup)
File B AND BA appears but its the same file, just renamed (Full and Wednesdays incr. Backup)

Please help me out of this.

    Kind Regards
    Nero

    Hello Nero2,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Actually, I consider you backup strategy as a rather complicated one, but however safe enough.

Please be aware that there are no any special recommendations on backup strategy, since it depends on your needs and the final choice is always up to you.

I recommend you to download and install the free trial version of Acronis True Image 9.0, since the best way to figure out what is more convenient for you is to try the program.

You can find more information on how to use Acronis True Image 9.0 in the respective User's Guide.

If you still think that you need help in making a decision then please describe your needs in more words. What exactly do you want to achieve with your backup strategy?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

i have no backup straqtegy in place, becouse im new to this.
The fist i thought was a weekly full backup and daily incr. backup. Is that a complicated strategy?? The PCs in question are equipet with XP SP2, and Samsung 80GB SATA II Harddives. Entire HDD should be backed up. Every PC has a single FIREWIRE exernal HDD dedicated for backup.
    Please advise.

    Kind Regards
    Nero

    Hello Nero2,

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

This is a normal strategy and Acronis True Image allows you doing it. Could you please tell us your specific requirements?

    Thank you.
